Power from the house
Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged
in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses
two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if
only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of
the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are
connected.
Heating Element
Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit
breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of
special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No
continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it. The
proper ohm reading can be found in the service manual or sometimes on
the tech sheet located somewhere on your dryer (9- 13 ohms is a common
reading). Electric heating elements aren't repairable. The heating element is easy to replace. Check our videos for other types of dryer heating elements.
Thermal fuse / Thermal Cut Out / Thermistor
On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel or behind the front cover.
The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black
resin and mounted in a white plastic housing They are also round and
made of metal and plastic. The thermistor is located on the blower
housing usually. If any of the fuses do not have continuity replace it.
Check for continuity if none replace, But before replacing check for
obstructions. The fuses are very inexpensive and easy to replace.
Wiring
A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at
the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still
tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially
defective. Check all connections, make sure they are tight. Loose
connections can lead to a fire. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.

If its new u should have a warranty still on it.. most have a Leat a year... Gas isnt anything to be messing around with.. Find out about u warranty or call a repair man.

The vent is clogged. To make sure, disconnect the vent from the dryer and run the dryer normally. If your clothes dry normally, then have a professional vent cleaning company take care of the vent.
The cooling light will always stay on during the run. When it is blinking, the heat has stopped and is in the cooling process.
If there is no heating, you have a problem with the high limit switch or something else electrical and needs to be addressed by a qualified LG technician.

i have a hotpiont TDC32 i have changed heating element and thermastacs and it still does not get as hot as it should it takes ages to even half dry has anyone got any ideas please i have cleaned all the filters etc...

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.
Check to make sure you are getting full 220 Volt power to the dryer, if you are then:
Check your Wiring
Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, burns and the connection breaks. In this has happened to your dryer, you need to replace the power cord and the terminal block inside the dryer to which the wire is attached.
Check the Door Switch
If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch. Check for continuity you should have none with door open, and should have a reading when closed. If not replace the door switch.
Check to make sure you heating problem is not a lint build up in the discharge hose or the dryer,as this condition can cause heater/thermistor problems such as overheating of the heating coil leading to failure of the coil and burnout of the thermostat/thermistor due to overheat.
Sounds like your problem may be with the heating coil. Remove the back/or front just under the door of the machine and try to locate the air duct going from the blower to the drum. Normally inside/outside the air duct you will find the heating coil and the thermostats/thermistors. Once you have located the heating coil, remove the two wires from it and check the coil with an ohm meter across the two terminals of the coil.
You should read continuity across the terminals, if not you will need to replace the coil as it is faulty.
If the heating coil is ok, then:
You can check the thermostat/thermistor one at a time by removing the two wires and taping them together with electrical tape or with an ohm meter to test the thermostat/thermistor. (Should have/show continuity)
If the coil heats up then replace the thermostat/thermistor.
(Thermal fuse.If it overheats the dryer will not operate. It's located on the blower housing. It cannot be reset. A vent clogged with lint can cause it to overheat. You can test it with an Ohm meter or continuity checker, if no continuity, replace it)
DO NOT LEAVE THE WIRES TAPED TOGETHER AFTER THE TEST.
This could cause a FIRE, as you have removed the safety of overheat from the machine.
Right after replacing a dryer element, always run the dryer on 'air fluff' / 'no heat', and go outside to verify there's plenty of air coming out your vent system.
If the vent's clogged, that new element can burn out very quickly.

the most common problem is air flow restriction.make sure the machine is not pushed back to far and the ducting is getting kinked or blocked some how.when the machine is running go to the outside of your home and feel for the air blowing out of the dryer it should be pretty strong if it is not then there is a restrtion in the main line somewhere.and a leaf blower can be used on the inside of the house by sticking the tube in the vent hole and blowing it out but make sure that the outside part of the venting is clear so anything in the main line can come out.
