Hi, since couple of days I am noticing that sound in my TV goes off and on. I initially thought that its cable connection problem. However when I checked with other people who have same cable connection, they say its no problem for them. Can you tell me what chould be wrong and how to get it rectified. Thanks in advance for your a advice. Regards Sree

It looks like you got a bad Power Surge thought your Power Cable. There is a card in your TV that handles that. Unfortunately their is little you can do but bite the bullet and pay to have it fixed. First call Samsung and ask if this has happened to anyone else.

I had exactly he same problem and it fixed by pressing several times the "source button"

The problem can be caused by either a Bad Main bd or a Bad Power Supply bd. Those two boards are the common failures. Other boards that can cause this are the T-Con bd and the Inverter bds.. To determine if your tv is in or out of warranty you need to look at your tv Purchase Receipt and see what the Purchase date is. Samsung gives you a One Year parts and labor warranty from the date of purchase on your set. You can also call 1-800-Samsung for more assistance.

First hook up a DVD player and let a movie run for a while. If the pix still blacks out then you have a bad Main bd in the tv. If it does not then you have a problem with the source box. More often problems are with the source such as a cable or sat box.
