I have a Phillips TV model 42pf7320/79 and it turns off by its self, does any one knows what is causing this ?
If someone has a solution I would appreciate the information. I also have a Phillips and when I turn on the TV it will turn off after a couple of seconds. If I wait awhile the and turn the TV on again it will stay on for maybe 5 minutes or so then turn off. I tried removing the batteries from the remote control to make sure the remote wasn't causing the problem.
Anything toward resolution is apprecaited.
Sounds like The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Has anyone gotten a resolution for this the only answer I saw was the SSB Board. Is there a cheap place to get parts. Philips model 50P8341 goes off by itself also wont come back on if you unplug it for a while it will come back on.

well based on your story it seems that your tv when get hot loose some of its contact. i beleive the symptom is cause by a loose solder (cold solder). this is normal especially tv's that are aging. it tends to loose its contact because most of the parts/components of this device are becoming hot when being operated. example of this are resistors, transistors, and ic's(integrated circuits). check the power supply circuits and the horizontal deflection circuits. because these two circuits are responsible for problem you are experiencing. also use a magnifying glass in inspecting the board. based on my experience looking alone without this glass is not enough. you need to magnify it, to see it clearly. but if you are not inclined with this kind of job, better bring it to a qualified technician. one more thing, i dont beleive that the house is related with this problem. otherwise all your equipment that are hooked up in it will do the same problem (on and off). i hope this help you! good luck!
