Auto Document Feeder

I can not get the feeder to work. I place the paper in the feeding rack and push print and nothing happens except I get a plank sheet of paper. I have a Canon Copier PC 980

    No nothing the paper just sits in the rack.

    Same issue, replaced DC board and rollers in top ADF section, no loading of paper at all..

    Just connected my Canon MP610 for the first time, have had it for 5 years though. When I try to print, nothing happens, no matter which tray I use. It starts to spin but it seems to me that feeders are not responding?

Dont know if you replaced it or not, but replace the adf dc board and clean the gears....it should work then

Has the feeder attempted to feed in the document ? Check to see if there is already a document on the copyboard platen

    i cant give u the solution to repair it yourself, it may have many different solutions,
    U need to call A service centre for repairs

When pages come out of the copier the image is printed crooked. The paper comes out straight, so feed is correct. Image is just crooked? Why?
Does this happen when you using the document feeder?? Try placing the original document on the big glass see what happens might be you document feeder needs to be adjusted or the original document is hitting a obstruction in the path as it is being scanned. Does it print OK? Vise copy?

What does document in ADF mean
Hello, Thanks for using Fixya today.
ADF is auto document feeder, used to feed a document into a scanner or printer. The error is associated when there is a document or paper jam at the document feeder, or paper trail.
This would happen mostly on scanners and all in one printers after witch a document is left in the feeder or there was a paper jam occurrence. We hope this answers your questions today?

Canon 1023if auto feeder not working. Says check
The document feeder has multiple sensors in it. sometimes they hang up and stay stuck out of place. Other sensors might get paper dust on the face of the sensor. If you can open the document cover, locate the sensors and see if any are ajar or the sensor flag fell out of place. Also look to see if a paper is stuck in any of the paper path areas. Not seeing the machine it is hard to say if it fed paper and says check document, if it did, clean the feed wheels with a wet paper towel.

Auto feeder not working
Easy fix. Turn the machine off, on the back side of the document feeder is one beige cable. Unscrew the two screws and disconnect the cable. Turn the machine on with the feeder unplugged, let it come to ready. turn the machine off, connect the beige connector and turn the machine back on, It basically forgot it has a feeder and needs to plug and play without the feeder then to detect it when plugged back in,

Copies run through feeder distorted
Document feeder Paper feed rollers should be cleaned with alcohol, blow out the document feed area with compressed air (computer duster), check feeder for bits of paper, post it notes, and signature flags. Clean glass, check for sticky areas on the glass.

Not feeding
Have you still getting the problem, have you done cleaning of Cartridge, its nozzle and Contact strip.. then cleaning of Printer roller or carriage rack.. Do a Service of it or get it done by Technician.

Also check the feeder tray.. to grab paper one by one by printer.. Manually

Take all updates for printer and OS.

Ricoh C21SF Automatic Document Feeder (ADF)
Take a little soap and a little water and clean the gray feed tire that is located in the document feeder. Check for any paper obstructions. If the machine has had a lot of prints I would replace the feed tire.

Document feeder works for printing but not for scanning
Hi, When you had the doucment feed jam were you able to clean or remove any paper that might be blocking the paper to be scanned? It sounds like there is paper still in the document feeder , I would open the DF and check very closely to make sure no paper is in the way!Good Luck!
