Mini Dv My mini dv camcorder has horizontal black lines on the lcd screen. I went into the menu to reset all settings. The default was applied, but the horizontal lines still appear. My camera is the JVC GR-D275U.

Please use Mini DV Video head cleaning cassette as it seems video head is dirty / clogged in camera.

Replace the Ribbon Wire between the Mini DV unit and the lcd screen. Samsung wanted $136 to repair same issue for me. Screen started with colored lines eventually going to white lines and finally screen went completely black and stayed black. I replaced the Ribbon Wire after purchasing a copy of the systems schematics and repair manuel online. With total cost of everything i bought to make this repair I saved a little over $115 from what Samsung wanted for the same repair.

same problem happned with me i just fast forward the tape or rewinded and it went away after a few minutes

i assume that the 'black lines' are 5 bars of dark video spaced equally across the screen. this is a symptom of dirty heads. use a mini DV cleaning tape, and the problem should go away.

this sometime appears when the camera hasn't been used, this dissappears after sometime of playing.

The LCD is not color correct. You don't get that until you move into the HD DVCams. And then most TVs don't agree on color too.
