My all usb port are broken. can i change the usb port of it.
If your nifty with a soldering iron and I mean very skillful you could attempt to replace the physical USB sockets yourself. I have done this on a C660 before but only attempt this is you are confident and competent to do so.
One or two things spring to mind here. First always check the basics. Is the Xp disc not only functional ( not physically damaged and a proper bootable version).
2 does the dvd drive function normally in Windows.
3 does your laptop have latest bios?
4 is your bios battery in good working order. Check battery with multimeter if less than 2.3v replace.
You should have the option to boot from a usb drive as long as you have latest bios installed.
If the answer is yes to the above then as others have suggested try an external dvd drive if you have access to one.
If ypu have another pc you could always try a network installation. I would also check the state of the hard drive as if it is origonal drive it will be pretty old by now and may need replacing. With that been said, im still using original drive in my old C660.

Hi,
Check if you have another bootable disk and try with that. Check the same disc on a different computer and check if that works. Else if you have a exterl DVD drive check with that
