Hi Hartley You answered a question to error 9-363 and said the following. Rotary dev fail. usualy caused by using black only for a long time. Most likly, it will need a clean out and replacement of the black developer and then replacement of the fuse on the driver board Why would you change the fuse on the driver board if the fuse is not blown? Is the fuse on the board that reads PWBA-DIST or PWBA-AC Drive 120V? Do you change all the fuse? Also, I read some people said I have to clean the rotary sensor. Do you have an idea where this is? Thank you! Keith

Yes Its on the rotary pwb. Its behind the IOT pwb. Basically at the top left hand corner as you look at the rear of the machine. I think it is a 3 amp slow blow but cant quite remember. Definately slow blow though. Sometimes if you meter them they can read ok but as soon as a load is passed through them the fuse cant hold the charge and fails. It is the 2 fuses that are harder to get at, may as well change all 3 whilst your there. The rating for the fuse is written on them. Worst case is the developer motor has seized, taking it off an putting it back on again usually remedies this, but its a bit more awkward to get to. Fuses first

SOURCE: Error 9-363 Xerox

well I dont know how extensive you want to get but is what is happened is the Black developer housing has gotten to much toner in it and it is packed in there. The solution to the issue is to replace the developer material. with new. It may not be nessasary to replace the housing but that may also need to be replaced.

System fault 9-363 i tried everything i know, please help

You can try this, try to clean the dev rotary sensor. open the upper right hand cover then there are two assy's to be removed also for you to access the rotary sensor located inboard side. this sensor senses the home position of rotary developer. to removed this sensor, you have to open the rear cover, then rotary pwb. some 9-363 code is due to busted fuse in the rotary pwb. Or could also be a fault with the fuses.

Goes to intel screen thEn black screen with

Hi,
That error means that the Boot Manager is Missing. This is usualy caused by either a failed hard drive, or a failed attempt at recovery. If you try to do a recovery and then suddenly halt the process, weather on purpose or due to somthing like power failure, then the first bit of the Recovery boot process, the BTMNGR, can be hosed. If this happens then your only option is to order recovery disks from the manufacturer and install the OS that way. These disks will run you about $15-$30

You might boot into bios (F10 on startup) and do a hard drive self test first to make sure you dont have a hard drive problem...

What is grub error 17? how to fix it?

Its GRand Unified Bootloader used in Linux OS.
Normally you get this error when GRUB is not able recognise the partition from which you are trying to boot the system. Make sure the boot partition on your system is recognisable by GRUB (such as EXT3).

You can try to restore the GRUB using the LIVE CD
  1. Boot From Live CD
  2. Open Terminal Window
  3. type >sudo grub
  4. then type : find /boot/grub/stage1
  5. you'll get something like: (hd0, 1)
  6. then type : >root (hd0, 1)
  7. type: > setup (hd0)
  8. >quit
  9. >exit
Remove the Live CD and reboot the system.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
