Tv scanning through channels by itself - Insignia 37" LCD Flat-Panel HDTV

Here are some steps to tune a Teac LED/LCD digital TV without a remote:

1. Find the TV's on-screen menu buttons on the TV itself (often located on the side or bottom of the TV)
2. Use the arrow buttons to navigate to the channel setup or tuning menu
3. Select "Auto Tuning" or "Channel Scan" and follow the on-screen instructions to scan for available channels
4. If the TV has manual tuning option, select it and input the frequency, symbol rate, and other information for each channel you want to add manually.
5. Once the tuning process is complete, the TV should display all the available channels. If you are unable to access the menu without a remote, consider using a universal remote that is compatible with your TV or obtaining a replacement remote from the manufacturer.

(Note: some TVs will delete digital channels from the stored channels if the signal strength consistently is too low for the tuner to interpret.)

Do you see any channels [as a glimpse], during auto-tune. If you see them for a moment during channel auto scan, and do not store them in the TV memory, after the channel scan has been finished; the fault is with the TV itself. If you do not see that glimpse of programs during channel auto scan, there are two possibilities.
1. The tuner of the set is faulty.
2. The set do not get any signal to process [might be antenna].

It's just trying to set itself up by scanning to see what available channels are present. You should be able to let it finish and then your TV will be programmed to only tune the channels you can actually receive.

This can sometimes take 10-15 minutes so be patient.

I just bought an RCA TV and was ready to throw it out the window. Spent 2 days trying to set it up asking RCA 5 times for help and went online and still couldn't solve my problem.

If you are connecting your TV to a cable box, your channels are already there so you do not have to scan for channels.

The best thing to do is contact the cable provider and ask them to provide a list of the channels you are suppose to get. With all the channel mapping and digital TV display devices these days, you might need to have your display device scan for channels if the signal is not tuned through the cable box itself. The channels may be there but the tuner in the TV device has not scanned the channels to register them into it's memory. Also make sure to set the TV for a Cable mode of tuner.

Easy..your tv is not able to scan cahnnels...then, the solution is to plugging "a thing" that can do that: a converter box.

Do a full channel scan again. It should solve that problem.

What you have to do it go to the TV Menu and go to channel. Then go to channel scan and do one of those. THe problem is that is just doesnt know where to look for channels, but a quick scan will fix that.

The only way to fix the problem is to hook your TV to a standard cable hookup and go through the "auto memo" scan process. The auto scan progarm then automatically sets itself to the CATV mode, rather than the standard mode, so channels above 13 can be received after disconnecting and reconnecting to a DirectTV, satellite antenna.
