Not clear in the video the detailed problem. ok if dvd player won't read cd tried to insert other cd's which not the same region. if still won't read you can use a disc cleaner to clean the laser lens which too dirty or sticky .

SOURCE: Sony Bluray player Picture blinking on and off

Hi Lauren,

We had this very same problem and all we did was upgrade our standard, generic HDMI cable to a Monster brand "higher def" cable, and all was right with the world. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: I have a JVC DVD

Sorry to say, no; this is a model limitation not a fault as such. XV-N670B is a DVD player, and the playable formats are:

DVD-Video, DVD-RW/-R, +RW/+R, CD, CD-R/RW, SVCD/VCD, WMA/MP3/JPEG, DivX. No Blu-ray support.

The JVC XV-BP11 and XV-BP1 do play Blu-Ray discs, as they are specifically Blu-Ray players (according to the JVC website).

I have heard of quite a few Blu-Ray players allowing DVD playback. The XV-BP1 supports the following playable media: BD-R/RE (Blu-Ray), DVD-Video/-R/-RW, R/ RW, CD, USB (again, this is from the same JVC website). You would need to purchase this or a similar Blu-Ray player to enjoy the benefits it has to offer (but it's up to you if you want one of those later on).

DVDs are still good, the 'disc error' message on your DVD player is normal due to the wrong media format inserted. The bonus here is it didn't cost you anything to ask, and you don't need a workshop quote on repairs.

This is the best free advice I can offer.

Do I have to have an internet connection to play only DVD on a Vizio vbr220?

You should not no. Most players only need to be connected to the internet to do updates for the device and/or for bluray playback codecs. A regular dvd is a standard format and should not require any update to playback.

I have a Vizio bluray DVD player that has been great until last night when it had a message to do an update which I did and it said it was successful and to restart the player which I did. Now it only will...

I am so sorry. The only thing you can do is alert Vizio and tell them that their firmware update has messed up your DVD player. See what they say.
The only thing I can think of is to unplug the DVD player and maybe just maybe that will role back the player. But I wouldn't hold out much hope.
Again, I am sorry and worried that there is no role back feature on my Bluray.

Good sound and no picture

Verify that the connections are correct. If HDMI (assuming so since its HD/BluRay) check the cord to make sure both sides are connected good into each device. If this doesn't help, try to use a different cable to see if the cable is malfunctioning. If these dont help - you will need to contact Vizio support because the issue is then a internal issue and should be checked by a professional.

Hope this helped.

BRAND NEW 42in. vizio 1080 LCD HD 120HZ picture not clear

the tv models in store are usually have samples from blueray dvds. standard dvd players will look fuzzy because it only submits standard dvd picture quality. you can try an upvert dvd player. tho i cant promise picture quality. i have an xbox 360 that upverts the quality. if you get a bluray player i recommend hdmi wires. if you get upvert dvd player and it has an hd outlet red, blue, green wires it might work. i havent tried one myself. if you dont want to spend money on bluray dvds. i recommend an xbox console. it upverts dvds through hdmi or hd red, blue, green wires
