How do I replace ATDC Sensor - Konica Minolta bizhub 250 All-In-One Laser Printer

ATDC Sensor Failure
- The scanning value of the ATDC Sensor is less than 7 % while the IU Motor is turning.
- The scanning value of the ATDC Sensor is more than 19 % while the IU Motor is turning.

Remedy

1 Check the UN2 connector for proper connection and correct as necessary. 2 Remove the Developing Unit from the IU, and then replace UN2. 3 Run F8. 4 Change PWB-A. 5 Change PU1N.

cof32 is telling us that ATDC sensor is reading toner supply incorrectly, now this Toner Density Control sensor sits inside the developer unit of this machine, and toner is feed into it, where the atdc sensor reads the amount of toner that it has mixed with the developer and adjust it occording to level initally set when developer was first installed.

Developer can become old and not attract the toner any more

Toner can clog up and not be able to get to it

Developer can be spilt so it is no longer at right level.

Maybe it wont stir cause of something mechanical

Sensor rarely fails

or maybe the ATDC sensor needs to reset it's level (service f8)

not sure but ...Service mode stop 00 stop 01 then select F and 8

If you replaced the developer unit then you already replaced the ATDC sensor. using third party toner or KMBS? if so use only KMBS

- The measurement taken by the ATDC Sensor (UN1) at a time 2.0 sec. after the Main Motor (M1) has started turning is 19% or more (1.41 V or less).

This is form the service manual, The meaning is developer material or the worst case you should change the entire ATDC sensor.

ATDC sensor malfunction.Try to change the ATDC sensor gain adjustment value,increase or decrease.If the error persist you must be change the developer and the perform the F8(developer and ATDC semsor initialization).To reset please tell me the copier model.

The sensor in the developer unit has failed. In some cases this code will occur after a PM where the developer was replaced and calibrated but the developer or drum counter was not cleared. The reset for this error is to turn the machine off (unplug it) and turn it back on. If the error comes back you will need to replace the sensor and developer.
