LG Viewty pc connection problems

Hi there

I am having trouble connecting my Viewty to my PC. I followed the intructions given, installed the software and connected the phone via usb.The LG PC Suite says 'U990 Ready' after i follow the connection wizard.

When I try to syncronize my phone with the pc and ACTUALLY connect it says:


Initialize connection with MS Outlook (I)

Synchronisation failed.

Fail to connect to the phone,
Please check the COM port and connect in idle screen.


This also happens when i try to connect it to the Music Manager. The phone reads

'Cannot Execute. Conflict with (Startup Wizard)'

I have tried everything i can think of (which is little). I wondered if you could help.

My computer is not a new one. Do you think it is incompatible? It has Windows XP so i assumed it would be ok.

    Hi
    I have the exact same problem and its driving me mad I have spent nearly the whole day trying to sort this out , its driving me insane I have tried it in several different usb ports and still nothing, please help?

    HELP! I tried that but it only says Home Screen and Menu, nothing else. I'm getting the same error message:

    Question 1 - If you open the task manager on the phone is the 'Startup wizard' program listed there?



    Question 2 - If ever I want to manage the music on my phone I just use the USB cable with the phone in 'Mass storage' mode & use it like any other thumb-drive. It's much simpler & faster than the PC Suite route. Could you not do it this way?

I had the same problem. It was caused by the phone waiting for the date to be entered (even though it was already done). To get over the problem click on the multitask icon on the phone (top right). If anything is running other than "Home Screen" and "Menu" click on the application and close it. PC synchronisation should strat to work now.

Hi,
Visit this link to download the PC software for LG KU990.
If You want to be able to see the contents of your LG Viewty on your PC, you don't have to install the software. Here's a very simple solution to that
On your Viewy go to

1.Phone Settings,

 2.select Connectivity,

 3.select USB connection Mode

4.set it to Mass storage, (select)

 5.go back to main screen, and connect your USB to the PC

 6.Your Viwety should go immediately to USB mode

 7. On your PC, Go to Computer, and look for the removable driver that corresponds to the new connection (your viewty), click on the driver icon and you should be able to see your phone's content if u have a flash memory inserted on your phone.

Trying to download my pictures from my lg ku990 to my pc but i dont have the software disc?
Hi,
Most of the mobile don't need softwares to be installed for transferring pictures to computer from it. Just connect your mobile to computer and select something like "Mass storage mode/ pen drive mode", if prompted anything in your mobile. You should be getting extra pen drive like removable drives in your my computer and all your pictures can be accessed via it.
If still you couldn't succeed, then you can remove the memory card from your mobile and connect it to your computer using any memory card reader and can transfer your pictures easily.

Can not down load from pc using usb cable
what's the brand of the phone? normally every brand has its own way of connecting to the computer. nokia for instance uses nokia pc suite as a sync application. normally a cd with compatible software is delivered with the phone. if you don't have the cd, you can download the soft from the manufacturer's web site. install this software first and wait for the soft installer to ask you to connect the phone at the right moment to make a valid synced connection between the pc and the phone...

Unable to transfer files to lap top
First install the LG software on your laptop called pc suite.if you have done this then on your laptop go to control panel then system then device manager then check whether the port on which you connected your handset is working properly.If yes then go and check the settings of the pc suite you installed.Did you enable file sharing on the suite?

I cannot connect my lg viewty to my pc without it saying intialis
Did you have installed the drivers?

Run the software as administrator and by the warnig choose yes.

The fallowing software will e installed:

LG PcSuit
LG modem driver
USB modem driver

Ths take a few min.

Disconnect your LG before installing the software!!!

When its finshed you can also make an internet connction via USB or Bluethoot.


The second option go to your phone settings.
choose connctivity and the USB connection mode.

Choose Mass storage.

Now the phone will act as an extern USB Harddrive.

You can drop and drag files in the explorer of your windows.

After you finished the job you had to do put the setting back to Data service to receive the calls
etc.

LG Viewty pc connection problems
Hi, I just had the exact same problem..
I tried like FOREVER and I even said, if this try doesnt work; i'm giving up, and then... it finally worked.. haha :) so, this is what I did.
(dont connect your phone yet but set your phone as data service) You open the program LG pc suite, and then click connection wizard > usb > and then here, you connect the both ends of the usb.. one end on your pc and the other on your phone, and then you press next. Hopefully it says something like Com Port Number and Phone Model. You click next and finish. So, now you are connected to the phone to your pc. To get photos to your pc, you click content. images. and copy and paste to where you like (pictures in your pc) and then your done :D this also goes to other files too :D if this doesnt work, then go to your right top corner box, close all applications and go to home screen! :D

I hope this really helped because I just learned it few minutes ago and I was about to scream because I tried so many ways. Hope this helped and Good Luck :D

LG Viewty pc connection problems
What you need to do is click on the top right corner of your LG Viewty phone which will show all applications running. If you have an 'Unknown' app, click on this.
The problem is that the user guide for the phone is running and you need to click on 'Unknown' and finish the tour or exit.

This will then alow you to connect to your pc;-)
