Take It Too a Place Like JCpenny Store or Sears or Wal-Mart or Target & They Can Remove Battery Things From Watches as Well as Replacing Battries Too Have a Nice Day.
mcdevito75 here, Basically there are 3 ways to remove the watch back, If there are 4 screws holding the back onto the caseing you"ll need jewelers screwdrivers to reove the screws and cover, if there are square holes going around the edge of the back cover you"ll need a special tool called a case back remover tool available on ebay to un-screw the back cover, or the cover simply prys off. Look for a tiny tab on the back cover you may need a magnifier glass available at most Dollar stores or there may be a **** between the back cover and case of the watch to pry off the back cover, use a sharp knife and carefully twist the knife oncwe you find this tab or ****.
To be honest, I would send back to Columbia. Water resistant watches are not only tricky, but you risk losing the warranty on your watch as well.
I would go to link and follow instructions:
mcdevito75 here, I took a fast search and came up with, www.Columbia.com Customer service # 800-622-6953 6A---6P Mon--Fri. Est. time. Hope this helps. Or you can visit a small watch repair shop in your area for a replacement Band / strap.
It is in your best interest to take it to a local jeweler to have the back removed and battery changed. You are at a huge risk to do on your own and may end up doing more harm then good. Batteries only run from 7.95 to 15.95 and repairs could run much more.
Dont do it yourself.. it might break if u apply too much pressure. GO to your nearest watch center and ask them to replace the battery for you.. Its better to spend a little money than to buy a new watch!
Buy a set of precision srewdrivers. Remove back(4 screws),take your 1 mm flat screwdriver and push straight down at the end of the hold down strap at the inside end. KEEP IT TIGHT IN THE NYLON CATCH! The hold down is hooked on the bottom of it. It will release and you will be able to lift that end and replace the battery. Then just push it back to hook it,VOILA! R.J.S.
