Asus eee pc cannot connect to home network but can to others

My 1000 hd asus notebook can connect to library and coffee shop open networks but cannot connect to my home network. My 2nd desktop PC has a wireless connection to the netgear router connected to my main PC. I have tried changing the password to the WPA-TSK connection and when I do that the 2 nd PC 's password needs to be renetered but then it works well. I have tried to go non-secure but no connection. I have tried WPA 2 as someone suggested - nothing. I have tried a password in all caps - as someone suggested. I have disconnected and reset the router - nothing. I even had a "professional" (Craig's list) come out to no avail.
Someone said itcould be the router as it is 3 years old but it sends on g&b and my Asus is set to g&b. I'm willing to buy a new router if it would do the trick.

Hi, I had the same problem with a EeeePC 901 Linux and Netgear DG834G v3. Wifi connexion did not work home but works with neightboors routers. I solved this problem with a Mandriva 2009.1 AND customize WiFi configuration, in the advanced parameters of the configuration box, put "auto" (without quotes) to RTS/CTS parameter. May be it's some bug in the RT wifi chip driver. Now I'm connected in WEP 128.

The same has happened to me and to my husband. I have an eee 701 and he a 900. The curious thing s that when one connects the other doesn't and viceversa. However, if we try to connect one and it doesn't, but the connection remains 'pending', when we start the other, the first one will connect. Another curiosity: now I am connected to my neighbor's network, because with mine I couldn't. It doesn't make any sense to me, but may be some more experience person can find this information useful.

To whom can help, The wireless is not working on my ASUS Eee PC 1000HA. It's working on every other laptop in my house so, it is turned on, it's just not working on my Eee PC 1000HA. Thank you, Dr.M.Seus

Right click the wireless icon in the lower right hand corner by your clock and click view available wireless networks. Then select configure advanced settings. Click on the wireless networks tab.
In the lower part of the screen select your wireless network and remove it. Reboot the laptop
Once back on, view available wireless networks again, double click yours and join it again. It may ask you for your password so make sure you have that handy.

I am trying to connect my computer to the internet via cable. Other laptops are working ok, asus PC 900 is not able to connect. In a bottom right corner is sign that network cable is unplugged, in the next...

Try to plug the network cable into another port on the router and then try again. If you still cannot connect and get the connect/disconnect again...your network card may be bad.

I would download a new network card driver from the asus website and see if that makes a difference before actually replacing the network card. You can always buy an external USB network to save money but it will be bulky.

I don't know how to connect my eeepc to my wireless router, when it does connect it says it's "unsecured" and I can't open any web pages, however when I connect directly to the router via cable it...

You need to open up your router (virtually) It is locked tight in security.

Visit the manufacturer web site to get the software or google Network Magic to access the settings (Google Network magic)

Asus eee pc 900a wireless connection not working

I've experienced the same problem with my ASUS netbook. Uninstall the wireless hard - remove hardware in control panel, reboot the machine and allow it to auto find the adapter again. This should correct it. If there are still problems verify that you have the most current driver for the wireless adapter, either from Asus, or the wireless adapter chipset manufacturer (i.e. Intel, broadcomm, etc.)

ASUS EEE PC w/ Windows XP will not Connect Wirelessly

You need to know if your home network requires a password or paraphrase to allow you to connect. Also, you might have to check your settings on your router, they have to match the settings of your laptop wireless adaptor. You can try these solutions and if no luck post with more information

My asus eee pc 900 connects to the wireless connection and gets an ip address but won't bring up and web pages

What is the IP address that you are getting?

The Ip address needs to be in the range of 192.168.?.? on a home network typically.

Also make sure that the modem is functioning correctly by unplugging it from the power for about 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.
