I press the on button, chose the wash cycle, the spin cycle & water/rinse temperature. I press the start button and nothing happens. The door won't lock and all the lights on the front panel go out. The control lock is not on. There no other messages on the panel except for the time needed for that cycle chosen.
6 loads into it's life cycle. Brand new last week. I have the exact same problem. Power on, lights up, select options, press start, door does not lock, lights out and stops. Booo Maytag.

How to Troubleshoot a Maytag Epic Washer Front Loader
Tip
Call Maytag for service if any of these procedures doesn't clear the code on the washer display.
Warning
Maytag makes several models in the Epic series and operating instructions vary. For model-specific troubleshooting instructions defer to the user manual that came with your machine or contact Maytag support.
Each model in the Maytag's Epic automatic clothes washer series has a computerized processing unit that displays error codes on a digital screen when something goes wrong with the washer. These codes help Maytag service technicians diagnose the unit. If you know the codes, you can troubleshoot the problem yourself, rather than request a service call, possibly fixing the issue yourself and saving you some money in the process.
Long Fill (LF) or Drain Problem (F9E1) Error Code 1.Press the power button to cancel the cycle.
2.Unplug the washer or disconnect power to the outlet its using.
3.Turn the power back on and select the cycle you wanted and press start.
Washer Problem (F--E--) Error Code
1.Press power to end the cycle.
2.Open the door to check for excess water in the drum.
3.Press "RINSE DRAIN & SPIN" if there is still water in the drum to remove that excess water.
Suds Routine (SD) Error Code
1.Open the drum at the end of the wash cycle.
2.Remove the clothes from washer, carefully examining them for damage from the excess suds issues.
3.Review your detergent uses to ensure that you're using the recommended type of detergent and the correct amount as stated on the product's instructions.
Could be several reasons:
- Selected the "Night cycle" program (means standing with the drum full of water, reason: too much noise in the spin cycle)
- Set to the "Rinse hold" (means standing with the drum full of water, reason: wrinkles on the clothes)
According to your description I think that this is not a failure otherwise error E20 will be appears on display.
Once the washing programme has come to an end, END illuminates on the programme progress display.
If RINSE HOLD was selected, the display beside the START/ PAUSE button flashes. 1. After a rinse hold, the water must first be pumped out:
- Either press the START/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out and the washing is spun according to the completed programme;
After the START/PAUSE button is pressed again, the spin speed can still also be changed during spinning), or
- Turn the programme selector to PUMP OUT and press the START/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out without spinning),or
- Turn the programme selector to SPIN or SHORT SPIN and press theSTART/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out and the washing is spun or gently spun).
At the end of this programme step, the END indicator will illuminate. 2. Open the door.
As soon as the DOOR indicator lights up green, the door can be opened.
Any luck? the certified Maytag repair company looked at mine and quoted $445. for the repair. it is 15 months old so of course the warranty is obsolete.
The solution is a new CCU panel and Temperature sensor.
Good luck.
Hello there: If your cycle does not complete or The cycle doesn't advanceWhen the cycle should advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:It's
the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins
agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin
cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It
may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with
water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse
water. than check the cold water supply line and the filter
most new washers have cold water only rinse and spray rinse ck cold water coming into machine during wash if no cold comes in suspect cold side of fill vale not opening ..could be wiring issue or a bad valve
the electronic module who drives the motor its the problem . you can order and replace find part at partstore.com go by brand and model
let me know if you need more help
thanks
