Hi, go to Ricoh-USA.com to download the printer's driver software. Go to the Downloads section, choose Drivers, and search for your printer and operating system. Download the driver and unzip it if it is zipped, then go into the Printers section of your computer's Control Panel, click Add Printer, and follow the prompts. Windows will walk you through the installation process.

if you are using the proper driver there should be a setting if you click the properties button when you hit print on the computer. from there you can set it to print in color.

Should I backup all my files prior to installation priort to upgrading to Ubuntu 14.04 lts?

upgrade do not alter your system files/folders. In case you are installing the new version rather than upgrade, then there is a chance you may loose your files in case you format your hard drive.

How to install ubuntu linux apple macbook pro notebook

Safest option would be to purchase a specialised virtualisation software product like paralleles Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac The 1 choice of customers worldwide to run. OR Fusion http://www.vmware.com/au/products/fusion

then download an .iso which is a cd image of Ubuntu
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/burn-a-dvd-on-mac-osx

the LTS version of Ubuntu stands for long term support, the version that
will most likely work on your mac will be the 64bit version.

I would suggest using a virtualisation program rather than replacing the
mac operating system so that you can be running both mac os and ubuntu
at the same time, without having to shutdown one to access the other.

Hopr this helps.

Installing ubuntu on my acer x483 but it stopped, and this is what i am seeing, Udevd[261]: '/sbin/blkid -o udev -p /dev/sdb'[3102]terminated by signal 9 ( killed), What do i do next

Your installation medium may be corrupted. Try downloading Ubuntu again and burn it to disc or use Linux Live (Google it) to load it onto a USB drive to boot from. Once you do that try reinstalling it. Make sure you download the latest version, either 12.04 LTS or 13.10 (currently latest as of Nov 10th). A new version is released every 6 months and a new LTS is released every 2 years. Version number signifies the year (12 for 2012, 13 for 2013) and Month.

Linux Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

I would install it from Windows if you still have it. It loads extremely easy and uninstalls just as easy. You can also test it as a live CD, so it runs without installing to test out hardware. gl
