Check with your local Ritz Camera store, or find Ritz online. In the past they've been updating the chip in the lens to work with digital cameras at no, or small charge ( Quantaray is a Ritz house brand ).

What adapter do I need for a Sigma AF 75-300 lens on a Canon Rebel XTi SLR?

Question edited for clarity.

You get the Sigma lens for the camera in Canon fit.

Can you use Sigma lenses on Canon cameras?
Since Sigma lenses are made to be fully compatible with Canon cameras, they are backwards-compatible. This means that you can use a Sigma lens on a Canon DSLR camera. Similarly, the Sigma cameras are backwards-compatible with Canon lenses. Macro adapter loses the AF feature.

Is this lens compatible with a Canon Rebel XS digital camera

Sigma makes lenses with a variety of mounts to fit a variety of cameras. If the lens has a Canon mount then it will work with your XS. If has some other mount, Nikon for example, then it will not.

I just purchased a Canon EOS Rebel K2 35 MM film camera body. What lenses are compatible with this camera?

The Rebel K2 has the Canon EF mount. It is compatible with any EF lenses except the EF-S series. It will also work with third-party lenses that are compatible with the Canon EF series.

You can see the entire current line of Canon lenses (including the EF-S series) at

My Quantaray 100 to 300mm (7 seven years old or so) for Canon AF cameras will not work consistently...It works on my Rebel 35 mm perfectly, but not on my new digital SLR Rebel T1i. The auto focus works,...

Your problem is a simple one: technology doesn't stand still.

Your lens was designed to work with Canon technical protocols which existed seven years ago and things have advanced somewhat since then.

With some third party lenses it's possible to send the lens to the manufacturer's service agent and pay to have it serviced and updated, but this cannot be done with your lens.

You'll have to buy a more recent lens model if you want to use it on your Rebel T1i. Older Canon lenses should mostly still work (unless Canon clearly state otherwise) as Canon will have taken their design into account on later bodies, but Canon have no interest nor any reason to make their later bodies able to use older non-Canon products.

Sorry that this is not the answer you hoped for, but I hope that you have still found it to be of some use and that you take a moment to rate my reply.

Compatible lenses

All Canon EOS cameras (including the film Rebels and the digital Rebels) can use the same EF lenses.

There are some Canon lenses named EF-S that will only work with recent models of Canon digital SLR cameras, but EF lenses will work with all Canon digital SLRs.

Vivitar lens

Can you provide model on the Vivitar and the model of the Rebel? The serial number provided is not sufficient to find exact info on the lens mount. If you take a picture of the lens mount and upload it, it's better.

Best info I can give is this ...

The Canon Rebel is an EF mount and will accept also EF-S type lenses. Once you have the mount type of the lens, you can then locate a mount adapter that will allow you to attach it to the Canon.

For example. If the VIVITAR lens has a T-Mount, then you can get one here. Realize though that old lenses do not benefit from new camera features, so autofocus and other things may not work.

Let me know more info if you can ...

Hope this helps, if so, rate a FixYa! ThankYa!

Err 99 with Rebel Digital

I am having the same problem. Just talked to canon tech support and the digital camera is too fast for the lense. This lense was designed for a 35mm camera. His suggestion was to just buy a new one directly from canon. he said on some settings it will work, others it will work some times, and other times it wont work at all
