Our LG Tromm front load washer\ after washing a load water seems to be getting back into the washer drum. How is this water getting into the washer drum when the machine is shut off.

Supply lines could be leaking. Also if your drain hose is not properly placed, the water could be coming back into the tub from there. Good luck to you.
tip

I bought and installed a new 3 valve cold water valve for my W2277HB. Initially...

If you are getting the IE fault code or error code from your LG washing machine then you need to know why you are getting that code and what do you need to do to fix the problem.

fa12bcd.jpg

497a1a0.jpg
This error code is caused when the washing machine does not fill up with water in about eight minutes. The washing machine gives its self eight minutes to reach the right water level. If there is a problem that keeps the water from entering fast enough the machine will shut down and give the IE error or fault code.

The most likely problem that will cause this fault or error code is that the water hose screens are plugged with dirt and debris. Most all washing machines have some type of water filter in the hoses or in the machine at the entering point for the water. Dirt and debris will build up in these filters till in restricts the water flow enough to cause this problem.

The other cause for this error is if you happen to reverse the hoses. If the cold water hose is on the hot side and the hot is on the cold side it can also cause to alarm. If the filters look clean then check the location of the hoses and make sure that they are properly connected.

Check that the water valves where the hoses connect to the domestic water supply are on completely. Some valves are difficult to tell if they are completely on or not.

If you need to reset your washing machine fault or error codes you can do this by unplugging the machine and then holding the start/pause button for five seconds. Then plug the machine back in and the code should be removed.

Soap dispencer leaving aoap behind

Check your water pressure. Remove the soap dispencer drawer, start machine, look inside the soapdispenser. You should see a good strong even spray of water. If not, the water pressure is low. Check water lines going from watertap to machine. Do you have good pressure at the watertap, but not when you connect hose? Check hose.

Pulsation water lines

What you are experiencing is known as "water hammer" It is caused when flowing water under pressure is turned off rapidly. The pipes then shake from the shock of the shutoff. Properly routed and secured water lines are less prone to this anomaly. You can install water hammer arrestors on the washer supply lines. They can be purchased at almost any hardware store or home center. Water hammers can cause pipe joints to fail and should be avoided if possible. The one below connects directly to the washer supply fitting. You then connect the washer hose to it. You'd need one for the hot and another for the cold line.

My Kenmore HE2 front load washer when I go to start a load of clothes it's making a humming sound and not filling up with water?

Either one of your water valves isn't working properly, or the lines have sediment restricting the volume of water . What I would do is turn the water to the machine off and remove the water lines and make sure they aren't filled will calcium, etc. and look in the water valves where the hoses connect because that are, which has a screen, may be full of nastiness. If both those are good then the water valve solenoid(s) are stuck and won't open. The humming sound you hear lets you know the rest of the machine is working because the sound is generated by power being applied to the valve by the control.

HF error flashes, then after 7 min. drains machine, but won,t go in wash cycle

Kenmore HE3T front loading washing machine. About every 2 minutes the cycle stops and flashes an "f" then an "h" on the display over and over again. **

That error code can be the result of no water detected entering machine after 30 seconds or pressure switch (water level control) activation not detected after 8 minutes of filling.

If there is no water in the machine at the time, make sure that both water taps are turned on, check for kinked fill hoses or plugged sediment screens in them and verify the water fill valve operation.

If there is water in the unit, verify drain pump and water pressure switch are operating properly, the pressure switch hose is in good condition and properly connected to the pressure switch. Also, make sure the water is not siphoning out of the machine prematurely due to an improperly installed drain hose

That error might also be caused by too much suds in the wash water like can result from using non-HE detergents

No water is coming thru the water valve to fill the dishwasher. The water is turned on. I had a Kenmore portable dishwasher and we just converted it to a built-in. The electricity is on and the water line...

Most probable cause a faulty intake solenoid.

OK start simple and go from there.

If your have power and light etc come on then we know you are good for power. I'll assume that is OK.

If you are not getting any lights on the machine you have a power issue or a stuck float valve. That requires another explanation.

Check the shutoff for the water supply to the unit.

I will also assume there is no water collecting inside the unit.

Water enters this machine under city water pressure. It is not pumped in. A solenoid switch opens the system and allows the water in. The solenoid is controlled by the timer. So those at the two things you need to check.

When the machine starts you should hear a click as the solenoid opens. The solenoid in located under the machine. Turn the machine on and listen for the click. If you do not hear a click we have a problem.

Remove the machine. It is usually screwed to the underside of the counter. You may have to lower it by turning the feet with a wrench. Usually you can lift it enough to get it to slide out.

With the machine on in the start of the cycle your timer should be telling the solenoid to open. To test put a test light or voltage meter across the terminals of the solenoid. The solenoid is located where the water supply line connects under the unit. If you have power the timer is working. You would replace the solenoid. If you do not have power the timer is faulty.

Chances are it is the solenoid. Just unscrew, disconnect the water lines and find a replacement part. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Washer and dryer unit. the water will not pump

hello. the lack of water may be due to the machine itself or it may be that no water is getting to the machine. Begin by disconnecting the water lines from the machine [after turning off the water] and then put the lines into a pail and carefully turn the water on. if you have plenty of water going into the bucket put the hoses back onto the machine and read on:
Is the water-volume selector switch set properly and are the control panel buttons pressed in all the way?

  • If you have a Maytag® washer, is the fuse (if there is one) in the control panel at the lid-switch bracket blown?

  • Is there a faint buzzing or humming noise coming from the water-inlet valve? (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If you can't hear anything, the water-inlet valve may not be getting any power. If you can hear some noise and there's water present, you may need to completely replace the water-inlet valve.
