Audio from tv is not restored by turning off power on headphones

I used an 1/8 inch male plug into tv and then into headphone xmtr.
amazon has lall cables and adapters.

Ok if I understand what you are saying. You are going from your TVs audio jack into an amplifier TEAC AG-V8050 and then into the Sennheiser T1250 unit? This is done to amplify the sound so your wife can hear the TV via Infared into headphones I am guessing. The connections would have to be as follows. TV RCA jack (Installed by someone to TV audio Output section, most likely the speaker) to the Amplifier TEAC AG-V8050 via RCA cable then from the Amplifier via RCA cable to the Sennheiser TI 250 IR Transmitter. The transmitter then takes the audio input and turns it into a digital signal which is transmitted via IR to headphones which your wife is using. First of all the amp TEAC AG-V8050 is not needed. what happend here is the person doing the installation took sound off of a preamp to avoid having to deal with the TV volume control. This works but it makes matters harder. So here is how you troubleshoot this problem: 1) Disconnect the amplifier and plug the RCA jack of the TV into the RCA jack of a set of amplified Mono headphones. (This is to determine if sound is coming from the TV) If not the problem is in the TV audio section and you will need to take it to a TV repair shop. 2) If audio is coming through the headset the trouble is in the amp or the sennhiser unit. To test the sennhiser unit: plug the sennhiser into the audio out of a VCR and listen in the headphones for sound. If you have sound, the sennheiser is good and the problem may be in the amplifier, but if you do not have sound the the sennheiser is bad. 3)Connect the audio out of the VCR into the audio in of the amplifier and plug the output of the amplifier into the sennheiser which tested good with just the VCR alone. If no sound is present then the amp is your culprit. Once you find out which component is the problem, I would suggest finding a rapair shop here on FitYa to repair your unit or having an electronics technician come to you to fix the bad component. You should be able to hook the tv to the cable box the cable box should have your A/V jacks. If so unplug the PS3 plug in your receiver to the cable box and run the PS3 through the receiver. Also check the side of the tv for HDMI inputs if you have HMDI you can go to Radio Shack and get a converter to go from HDMI into A/V

Your TV should have Audio out somewhere, even if its digital audio out, you could output to a receiver and then hook your headphones to the receiver.

You should have either a digital audio out port in the back of your tv or color coded analog out ports. Are you sure you have the cables plugged into the appropriate ports? I made the same mistake when hooking mine up, sometimes the print identifying the ports is very small. Also, since the headphones are wireless you may be receiving some kind of interference from somewhere. If you live in an apartment complex or next to a power substation that could be an issue.

i have no solution but the same problem.
the tr120 worked properly with a GRUNDIG-TV-unit.
After replacing the TV-unit with a SAMSUNG, the problem occurs.
I take the audio-signal out of the scart-connector (the unit has an earphone-connector but cuts of the internal speaker - this is not wanted in our usage).
might be an impedance-problem? or the scart-audio-output is too low for the headset-transmitter?
any further ideas and hints to get rid of the problem?

I'm having the same problem with the RS140. Only a few weeks old, and no sound at all coming out (not even the beeps). Have replaced batteries and tried a different audio source. Base station lights are on and indicating it is receiving an audio signal, but nothing is going go the headphones.

Ok.. first.. the simple thing is to go into your television menu and turn the television speaker OFF.
Then exit the menu and turn the volume up.. try your headphones now.

Next.. check the back of the TV for a FIXED AUDIO OUT.. plut your headphones into these outputs.. if you have these.. you can simply turn the set down.. and use the volume control on the headphones.
