Battery is not taking a charge. Have you checked the condition of the batteries with a hygrometer or voltage meter?

there are chargers on the market that charge a multitude of 18 volt battery shapes so there will be a charger for your battery
try battery shops of shops that sell a variety of 18 vole user equipment

If your battery does not hold charge, and you don't want to buy a replacement, then there is not much can do other than to keep using your laptop with the charger. All batteries have a time life span.

If your phone is not holding a charge unfortunately you will need to get a battery replacement for it. If the phone is still under warranty you can contact Samsung directly for a replacement free of charge. If not, you may look for a new battery on sites such as Ebay or Newegg.com

if it doesnt hold a charge its degraded and will need to be replaced . people dont realise that keeping a laptop plugged in damages the battery

I suggest to purchase another brand , PROTRON no longer on the market , it belongs now to SPECTRONIQ,and their customer service is very bad, they will tell you that the BATTERY replacement is out of stock at the moment but its on order , Ive been like this trying to get a replacement for my PROTRON for about 3 years !! AJ

If the battery is not detected in the BIOS (F2 at boot) and doesn't show as charging, then return the battery and get a replacement.

If neither the original battery or the new replacement battery are not detected in the bios a problem with the motherboard may exist. If still under warranty, contact Dell Support for a repair, if not, then you may be investing in a new motherboard

NOTE: This is not a direct replacement and will not attach to your DVD player as the form factor is universal. It will reside next to the player during operation... a minor inconvenience.
