I have an older 32 inch JVC tv (not a flat panel). I can't figure out how to connect it to a Phillips dvd player. When I plug the connectors in, it will not play. I do not have the JVC remote, so I can't figure out how to switch from tv mode to dvd or external device mode. Can you help me?
I hooked up a Pioneer DVD player to my TV and when I play a DVD the volume cannot be controlled by the TV. It just plays at one level and on the louder side. When I'm watching regular TV and the DVD player is on and playing a disc I start to hear the DVD soundtrack at the same time as the whatever I'm watching on TV. I should not be able to hear anything until I switch over to Video 1. Any suggestions?
You can change the input for your TV by way of the menu button on the front panel on the TV, instead of using the remote control. Per the owners manual, please read below:
You can also access the input menu screen by using the MENU button on the front of the TV
instead of the remote control. It appears between INITIAL SETUP and PICTURE ADJUST
screen. Choose the INPUT by pressing MENU button on the front panel and select TV or VIDEO
INPUT by using the CHANNEL +/- buttons ( <- -> OPERATE )
Choose the input that the DVD player is connected to.
