My Ge Top load washer will not power up start button?,no lights.

Their is a fuse in the harness red wire that runs down from the control to the motor on the hydrowave washer. Hydrowave washer manual
Of course if yours isn't a hydrowave maybe you oughta post a model number. GE has several different styles.

Hello,

A lot of times when that type GE Hydrowave washer does not spin/agitate it can simply be resolved by resetting the motor control board. This tip i wrote explains how to reset the motor inverter board and see if that resolves the problem with the washer. http://www1.fixya.com/support/r10292912-will_ge_hotpiont_top_load_washer_not

If ya try restting it and it does not work watch at the little green light on that motor board and see how many times in a row it blinks and reply with that number of times it flashes and i will tell ya what error code is being displayed

My Ge Hydrowave doesn't know what cycle it's in. It agitates when in spin cycle and doesn't spin at all.

Hello,

That problem with your washer sounds like its the mode shifter solonoid,To check it use a multimeter set to ohms and measure for appx. 98 ohms on that solonoid coil.

What you can try first though is to reset the motor control baord and that remedies so many troubles with the Hydrowave washer. This tip i wrote will tell ya how to reset the motor board.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
It COULD be the motor but it could also be a number of causes such as wiring, control PCB etc.
Draining is carried out by a separate motor. I fear a service call is required to investigate and diagnose, sorry ;-0(

Check the filter on the drain pipe and clear any muck accumulated there and also check that the drain valve is working or not. A thorough cleaning should solve the problem...............................sodeep

No agitation in ge hydrowave rinse cycles

you must unplug the washer for just 1 minute open and close the lid 10 times and plug it back in and put it on a light load cycle and let it wash with empty load. shoul work fine after that
