Audio out of sync with video on LG 37 LCD

On some, not all, channels, and with some, not all, dvd's, the audio is not right...perhaps a second off. This is my second tv, as I returned the first one to at least rule out if it was the tv itself. Seems not to be the case. It's doing it again. I have a Bose Cinemate attached and a dvd player, as well as an hd cable receiver, all using hdmi cables. When I unplug the Bose and turn the tv speakers on it still happens. Really annoying. I've read around and evidently there's some "delay" setting but nothing in my searching around has found anything like it.
Any help would be much appreciated. This is driving me nuts.
Thanks.

Do a factory reset to this TV, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

SOURCE: Delayed signal to my lcd from the cable box.

It is not that rare to have a few secound delay but it sounds like yours has some componates that have gotten alittle hot at times and now take longer to come up if you haven't put a surge protector on it I would do so . To day with all the brownouts and power spike the newer units can not handle this couse of the componate being a lot smaller and as we put more and more ecectronic in our homes we create are own power drops the only way to help this in most homes is to use surge protectors.

SOURCE: Audio & video sync problems

I would advise you to call LG's customer service at 800-243-0000 to set up service. There is a service bulletin about this issue specifically for your model. Your set requires a simple software update to fix the audio delay with HDMI issue. You can ask LG's customer service to refer to bulletin #0IVL20080379. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: LG 42PX4DV - HDMI Audio / PC Audio IN problem

one quick fix you can try. plug in the HDMI cable, slect a digital audio sound output from the sound settings on your machine, then leave it connected and restart it. It just might work.

SOURCE: LG 47 External Audio Control

The issue is not the receiver, it is the TV. The output from the LG is a FIXED output not a variable one. There may be a menu option to change that in the TV, but I'm not sure. Many people turn off the TV speakers when using a stereo for sound. If the TV output was dependent upon the volume control of the TV, there would be no way to shut off the TV speakers.

Double check the rear of the set for a set of outputs labeled VARIABLE. Connecting the receiver to those would do as you wish.

Many times in the setup menu there is a audio configuration or a internal speaker configuration. This allows you to turn the internal speakers off. I would check that first.

What channel or setting is used on the TV to play a DVD?

Hi, Channel 3 or 4 might work for older TVs. Most new HDTV's have a mode setting in the menu. (Video 1 or 2 or 3) or (Component 1 or 2). On your remote you may have DVD button. Try all these suggestions, 1 of these will work. You can play with the remote too. Good luck.

I want to connect 2 speakers(left and right) to lcd.how can i?

Hi,
Please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Connect the two RCA plugs on the Y adapter to the right and left Audio Out jacks on the back of the LCD TV.
Step 2: Insert the mini-plug on the cable attached to the right-channel PC speaker into the mini-plug jack on the Y adapter.
Step 3:Connect the mini-plug on the audio cable attached to the left-channel PC speaker to the mini-plug jack on the back of the right-channel speaker. This completes the PC speaker connections to each other and to the television. The TV sends an audio signal to the right PC speaker, which separates the signal and sends the left-channel stereo information to the other PC speaker.
Step 4:Connect the AC power plug to the back of the right-channel speaker and plug the other end into an electrical outlet.
Step 5:Switch on the speakers and the television to enjoy audio from both the TV's built-in speakers and the external pair of PC speakers.
