Ice maker isn't making ice...

I noticed a few weeks ago that our ice maker wasn't producing much ice. When I tried to get ice a few days ago, I noticed there were only like 3 pieces of ice in the compartment. I checked to make sure it was switched on and the little overflow flap was down and it is. Does anyone know why it's not producing ice? maytag 2 door first producing to much ice then since emptying manually no ice production checked water flow slow put up temperature water filter light on green but ok and change light not showing cut of leaver is down

There appears to be a problem with 1. the temperature needs to be turned down to produce Ice. also is the fill tube frozen where the water goes into the ice maker sometime you have to thaw it to get the ice out of it and the reset the maker too. We had a water main break down the road a few days ago. Since then, my Series 600 ice machine hasn't produced ice very well. I tripped the breaker to try to reset it but no improvement. Suggestions,...

when the main broke ,sediment collected in pipes. were you asked to flush youre pipes before drinking the water? it is possible youre supply line to the ice maker is clogged with sediment. take off the supply line and make sure water is reaching the ice maker. if it is ,youre filter or inlet may be clogged. hope this is the fix.

try forcing the cycle by manually triggering the cycle a few times. Sometimes you can detach the trip arm or turn the tray by hand by disconnecting it from the gear. There may have been a switch bumped to turn it off or the switch somehow jammed. Maybe check for freeze-up. If there is water in it, it's going somewhere.

Ice maker stopped after electric shutoff

You may have a problem with the computer control board in the ice maker.  Try this.  Turn off the icemaker for about 2 minutes.
Turn on the ice maker and press the clear button.  Press and hold this button for 12 seconds to get it to force extract.  This will confirm that the motors will work and push the ice cubes out.  Afterwards, let it run by itself.  If it still doesn't make ice, you will need to replace the icemaker.

Ice maker doesn't make enough ice to supply two senior citizens. This is the 2nd refrigerator we have had installed this month. What can we do to increase the amount of ice it puts out. The ice bin has...

Found in the FAQ section on Samsung.com:
Samsung refrigerator freezers produce about 120 cubes per day, which is in line with most manufacturer specifications.
Empty the ice tray and let the unit run for 24 hours.
If fewer than 50 cubes are produced during the 24-hour test, then your refrigerator requires service. Please contact Samsung Service at 1-800-SAMSUNG to schedule a service appointment.
If your freezer is producing 50 to 90 cubes per day, try the following:
  • Set the freezer temperature display to a lower setting. Freezer temperature must be 5 degrees Fahrenheit or less for the ice maker to work properly.
  • Make sure that the water valve on the refrigerator water supply line is completely open. You can find the water valve where the refrigerator water supply line taps into your house water line.
  • If you have a water filter in your refrigerator, change the filter cartridge. For instructions, see your Users Manual.
If you want your freezer to produce more than 120 ice cubes in a day, try the following:
  • An ice maker typically makes 1 tray of ice every 90 minutes. To shorten the amount of time the freezer takes to produce a tray of ice, set the freezer temperature display to a lower setting.
  • If your refrigerator has a Power Freeze function, press the Power Freeze button to speed up the ice making process. In the Power Freeze mode, both the compressor and the freezer fan run for 10 hours continuously. The ice making interval is reduced from 90 minutes to 55 minutes. If the ice bucket fills in less than 10 hours, Power Freeze stops automatically.
NOTE: If you have just installed your refrigerator, it will take 6 to 12 hours for the refrigerator to produce ice.
You should throw away the first three batches of ice cubes that the ice maker produces (approximately 30 cubes) to ensure the ice maker is making ice from clean water.
