My dynex tv won't pick up digital channels

I got cable and the tv was working fine and one day it stopped working. You can watch DVDs on it but not cable. When I contacted my cable company about this they said my son must have done something to the tv. I can't figure out how to fix it. When I hit info, Cable Analog, comes up but I think it was always this way. Any suggestions?

Have dynex 32''. How do I delete favorites.

When doing setup on some TV's you have to designate if you are using broadcast, cable or digital etc. Be sure that your 'source' selection is correct. Sounds like the #3 and #60 may be the only two signals your TV is picking up. Hope this helps

No Database - won't pick up channels when doing the Auto Scan

Mine did that and I had to tighten the connection better from the wall cable into the input.

My tv's freeview wont let me view any other channels apart from the bbc

Freeview? I'm not good with tv words... Is freeview a free channel you stole from the neighbors dish (don't be ashamed)? If so, then you should buy cable (Cable's better. Really. Satellite dish companies looked one thing over. Storms ruin your tv.). If your just watching what you can get through the air, well, that won't work. After a while, you start to lose channels. Just get cable. If you already have a tv network, then you should call the tv company.

I have a visco TV and I cannot get it off of channel 1. The remote does not work so I bought a universal remote but it still won't work. I tried to codes for NEC and Polariod as suggested by others,...

There should be channel buttons on the TV itself, try using those. Also, you may want to try changing the input from the Cable Box.
I am curious as to why the remotes don't work. Also, how did it get onto channel one. Did you get the TV used?
Here is a link to the AV Science Forum. It seems other people have challenges with this TV as well.

I have a Panasonic PV-V4525S VCR and I'm trying to program it to work with the Comcast cable. Right now it will only record the same channel that the TV is on and I have to tell the VCR to record channel...

If your using digital cable it will only record channel 3 or 4 depending on what your cable box is set to...In order for it to record different channels it needs a cable source plugged directly into it. You will only be able to record standard cable channels 1-125. If it's digital cable forget about... you can only record it with channel 3/4 a solution to this would be using a 2nd digital box.. "auto-programming" may be limited even with a 2nd cable box. If your only using standard cable 1-125... you can use the TV/VCR button it will switch between the tuner of the TV & VCR allowing you to record while you watch a different show... keep in mind this won't work for digital channels which if I'm not mistaken comcast has already converted all channels to digital even basic.

TV channel shows up behind the picture while watching dvds!

This is the best solution for your problem as a 40 year experience with wires etc. Go to the source of your cable signal connector . Open it and clean the terminals with emery paper , sand the end of the cable shiny clean from corrosion , get a new barrel connectors with gold terminals if possible lengthen the ends of the cable , insert and tighten good, use thick rg-16 or rg 40 cable with good insulation ends crimped professionally with a crimpier or buy ready made , not from dollar store. Get a gold plated professional splitter if you need one or two , it will cost about 15 or more each . Make the cable runs as short as possible, using the thick good cables. If needed get a signal magnifier. From radio shack or the source etc. Connect them good and tight . Ground the splitters . Problem solved , you will get crystal clear channel 2 to 7 including 3 and 4 . Isolate the TV cable from other cables and power wires. Vitally

No picture - 65535 shows on screen

My 42" Dynex just did the same thing. 65535 NO SIGNAL.
The channel label for this said "ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ"

I went to menu... Channels .... Set for Cable TV... Scan Channels.
It rescanned. It took twice as long as normal to scan.
After the scan completed it worked fine except of one thing.

ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ stuck on the screen.

I shut the TV off, then things returned to normal.

Hope this helps.

Notes:
This TV is only 6 weeks old.
Cable hook up.
It is -plugged into a brand new UPS power supply.
I used the sleep timer to shut off TV. The 65535 problem occured the next time the TV was powered up.

Dynex (no database) since power outage

What you have to do it go to the TV Menu and go to channel. Then go to channel scan and do one of those. THe problem is that is just doesnt know where to look for channels, but a quick scan will fix that.
