Check to see if the defrost timer is stuck. It is located by the compressor. Sometimes they get stuck during the cycle. Here is a diagram. The timer is number 28.http://cdn.appliancepartspros.com/images... You can use a flathead screwdriver to turn the timer. You will hear a click and the compressor will come on as long as there isn't another problem.

SOURCE: FREEZER NOT DEFROSTING AND ICING UP

Fridgedaire has a lot of defrost termination switches that are separating and not allowing the defrost cycle to heat up. The defrost termination switch is located behind the wall that is icing up, take out the screws that hold the back wall in place and use a hiar dryer or hot water to remove ice do not use an ice pick or sharp object of any kind. the def terminatin sw is small and round about 3/4 of and inch thick and has two wires coming off of it one goes to the defrost heater the other usually back into the wiring harness. check it to make sure it is not coming apart. Ohm it and the heater out it should have continuity when below 20 degress. the heater should have continuity all the time,.

SOURCE: Long run time between defrost cycles

You have a broken defrost part. Either the heater, t-stat or timer. The longer you let it go without repairing it, the more parts is take out.

Model FRT045GB

Good Morning Jr. Riojas,

I see that you are having trouble with your Frigidaire compact refrigerator, model# FRT045GB, and it not cooling. I also see that you have reset your refrigerator, by unplugging it, and it works fine for two weeks, then you have to repeat resetting it. I suggest contacting either the manufacturer or your local authorized technician for further assistance. They should be able to better assist as to why your refrigerator cools for a few weeks and then you have to unplug it for it to cool a couple more. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Freezer is not keeping cold

Hi.

Listen to the compressor.
If the compressor works try performing a complete defrost.
If the fridge restarts working and stop cooling after days or weeks, then it was the defrost system. Defrost thermostat and other parts in evap must be tested.
If the compressor never comes on, then the compressor is shot.
Other problem is gas leak.

Check compressor and try doing a defrost first.

Compressor is cutting on/off on overload, some are located on the side of the compressor, some inside the compressor. My advice is to install a start kit on the compressor. It is a combination overload/start relay/capacitor.You can get these at an appliance repair shop, just follow the instructions.Hope this helps. If I can be more help, write. Fridgidaire upright freezer alarm FFU2065FW

If the compressor is not running but you do have power to the refrigerator, there may be a problem with one of these:

The compressor,The Thermostat,The overload, relay, or capacitor,The defrost timer,The condenser fan motor.
Try to troubleshoot each of these componet one after the other using eliminating method.
That may solve your problem.
