BDP-S300 My Sony BDP-S300 blu-ray player will load disc, picture and sound perfect. but when I hit play the player shuts down and restarts. Tried loading the update but disk not being read..... confused?

rub some benzine on the disc leave it for 10 minutes then polish it off with a soft cloth

Does your player load the blu-ray menus?
Mine wouldn't until I updated it's firmware.

It sounds like you need the firmware upgrade for your BDP-S300.
You can download it from Sony's website, burn it to a disc and load the disc to upgrade your player.

You need to go to Sony web site and down load a update or you can have them send it to you a disk.

All downloads are in recent release order.Go to sony s-support and search firmware.Find your model.Select your computers operating system.Click on "download now" button.

If its BDP-S300 Sony Blu Ray then click Sony Support to download user manual.

I had same problem, and fixed it just as per URL link from Wizz.
Apart from following the Sony methodology by the letter:- a couple of things to note:-
1) Make sure you appreciate the difference between a data disk and a burn image. To copy the ISO file you need an image copy of the file, the disk will also need to be "fixated", this is a normal function of most disk burning software but may be prompted as a tick list before you burn the image.
I downloaded burn epress from http://www.nch.com.au/burn/plus.html and it worked fine

2) I got a "No DWLD 09" error after I had put the disk into the player. I tried it several times but still got the error. I solved it by changing CDR disk manufacturer. I was using Maxwell CDR-80's and when I changed to a JVC it worked fine.

I have no idea if this will work for you, but it worked for us (and I have no idea why it did work!). In any case, all we did was hit the "Dimmer" button on the Sony BD remote. The disk opened; we shut it, and the disk began to load and played. Hope that helps you!
