Whirlpool LF Error code

I recieve the Low flow error code when the washer goes into rinse. Timer Stalls and if I smack the top of the washer get a brief fill of water then recieve the LF code. I have replaced the home water hoses and shutoffs and the problem is getting worse. Is this a mixer valve problem or electronic controll?

LF = Long Fill
LF flashes when the water level does not change for a period of time after the valves are turned on OR water has disengaged the basket but control does not detect a water level change.
Is water supply connected and turned on?
Are hose screens plugged?
Is water entering the tub? If so check pressure hose connection to machine/motor control.

SOURCE: whirlpool/cabrio washer reads error LF and will not fill machine with water.

The serial number has a two letter designation, the first is where it was assembled and the second is the year. A long fill error can be several items, we all need to know first, how full with water, is your supply low on pressure or do you have a drain hose inserted far enough to cause a siphon condition? You should hear a gurgle splash as it drains.

The fill switch is a very sensitive device. You can test it by blowing into the tube, listen for the switch to click, or use an ohms tester. They are actually adjustble, the adjuster screw usually has glyptol (thread lock) on it. I would replace one before trusting an adjusted one.

SOURCE: HF error code

hi,

check this-
F/H No water detected entering machine or Pressure switch trip not detected.

If after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering machine and then valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed.

Or

If the control has turned the water valves on and after 8 minutes the flow meter has detected 10.5 gallons of water passing through it, but has not detected the pressure switch trip, the valves will be turned off and the error code will flash.

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.
If there is no water in the unit:
1. Make sure that both valves at the water source(s) are turned on all the way.
2. Check for plugged or kinked inlet hoses or plugged screens in the inlet valves
3. Verify inlet valve operation
If there is water in the unit:
1. Verify Drain pump operation
2. Pressure Switch Hose is in good condition and properly connected to Tub and Pressure switch
Verify there is not a siphon problem
Verify wire harness connections to:Inlet Valves, Pressure Switch, Drain Pump, Flow Meter, and Central Control Unit (CCU)
Check all hoses for possible leaks
Verify pressure switch operation

Verify flow meter operation
Verify CCU operation.

good luck

Hi gastang,
The problem is with your water valve. It needs to be replaced.

To access the washer follow these steps...
UNPLUG THE WASHER!
1.) Remove the 2 screws from either side of the control panel.
2.) Pull the control toward you a 1/4", then rotate it up and all the way over.
3.) Remove the white plastic wire connector to the top panel (it has 3 wires in it.).
4.) Remove the two clips on either side of the top panel. Do this with a screwdriver. Poke the screwdriver into the top panel to engage the clip, now rotate the screwdriver toward the rear panel.
5.) Lift the lid (for a hand hold) and rotate the entire cabinet forward to about a 45 degree angle then slide it toward you. Set it aside.

Here's a video that shows how it's done. But you'll notice that the screws on your control panel are in the front, the video has the screws in the back, but the rest is the same. Here's the video.

After you have access, you'll see the water valve on the right.

If this was helpful, would you take a moment and rate my solution? Thanks,
SG

SOURCE: Whirlpool Cabrio washer is leaking water

The problem happens when your installer throws away the drain hose u-bend, and stuffs the hose as far as it will go down the drain pipe. When this happens the end of the hose can get pushed under water, which causes the washer to siphon out the wash water when it fills. This results in an LF "Long Fill" error.
The solution is to get your installer to come back and install the washer properly.

Whirlpool duet washer LF error

LF error means "Long Fill". Whirlpool uses a flow meter that detects the flow of water entering the washer. If this flow meter does not detect the correct amount of water entering the washer it will sound the LF error code. Often this repair can be made with out calling an appliance repairman and without ordering parts. Start by removing the washer fill hoses; both the cold and the hot water hoses. Check for proper water pressure from the house. To do so, turn the water on and put the hose inside the washer or a bucket.

If water pressure is good, check the water valve inlet screens. Most residential washing machines have inlet screens. The screens prevent minerals from clogging the solenoid. With the hoses removed, you can visually inspect the water inlet screens. If the water valve screens are clear the inlet valve with the screens itself will need to be replaced. To replace the water valve, remove the top of the washing machine. Three screws hold the top down. The screws that hold the top down are on the back of the top panel. Once removed the top will slide back and off. Now remove the wire harness that connects to the valve. One screw holds the valve to the washers cabinet. Removing the screw and sliding the valve over will release the valve from the back panel enabling you to complete your repair.

One last thing to check is the fill hoses. These front load washers call for a lot of water quickly. So if you have stainless steel braided flood-safe hoses, they will trip for no reason at all. Replace these flood safe hoses with more traditional hoses. If the hoses are good and you haven't found anything slowing down the flow of the water, your electronic inlet water valve is just faulty on the back of your washer and will need to be replaced because it's just not allowing water flow into the washer correctly.

I have a whirlpool Cabrio, what does LF error code mean and how do i fix it??

The LF error is a water supply fault. Both water supplies must be connected and fully opened. The inlet hoses and valves both have strainers that may need cleaning as this could obstruct the water flow and also check that you don't have any water leaks. The unit requires a minimum water pressure to operate so anything that could prevent the unit getting this pressure will cause this fault. Hope this helps you out!

Code LF on Kenmore Oasis washing machine.

Hi

Error code LF means long fill. This means that analog water level pressure sensor signal is out of range or the water pressure is very low. The analog pressure sensor is a component on the machine control board. The normal water pressure is 100-200 PSI, when the pressure below 40 PSI then this error occurs. Verify the pressure at all other water sources in the house and check if its low at all places, if its low then contact the water company. Also check the inlet water hoses if they are kinked. Inspect the inlet water valve as well.

If you find no problems with the air hose or water pressure and its connections, then the machine control board would need to be replaced.

Please post back for any further assistance.

It keeps saying LF in the middle of the rinse cycle.

this error code means that the water valves are taking over 10 minutes to fully fill the desired water level. this could indicate that you may have a faulty water valve, and or a kinked hose that isnt allowing water to flow TO the valves. part number for your water valve is W10059320. And is a fairly complicated valve to replace, A faulty water valve can often happen if you water has alot of calcium or rust in it.Hope this helps.

Thanks.

Kenmore Elite model #110 27082601

In reference to the LF error code on your Kenmore Washer

When your washer displays error LF , it is due to low water pressure, slow or continuous fill.All washers are designed to operate with a water supply pressure of 20-100 PSI. When the pressure drops below 20 PSI the washer can have the following problems;

* Slow Fill- low water pressure reduces the speed at which water flows into the machine.
o Verify the pressure at all other water sources in the house (i.e. sinks, showers, etc..). If you find other places where the pressure is low, the problem is not with the machine but with the water supply.
* Continuous Fill- The valve may not fully seat under 20 PSI which would allow for a constant flow even when the machine isn't supposed to be filling.
o Contact the water company to verify the pressure being supplied to the house
* Error Codes- LF for long fill or FH for no water detected.
o A plumber may need to be consulted if the pressure is found to be too low.
