I wrote this down to connect at Digital Freeview box to TV and to Video. It works for me on a portable TV and I am a grannie so if I can do it ............ I did buy one of those scart boxes which allows 4 scart leads just like an electric plug multi socket, very cheap price. Hope this helps and Happy New Year.

Take the scart connector box lead to the digi box.

The scart from the TV and the scart from the Video both go to scart box.

TV aerial itself not plugged in or used.

Bottom video aerial to right digi hole
Another aerial lead (not aerial) from TV hole to left digi hole

Hi thanks to your site for helping me with the scan disk mode problem. Solved. Now I am having a problem with the VHS it is all snowy on and off how do i fix this? Thanks

Try connecting it to your TV utilizing the A/V connections instead of the coaxial connection. That should tell you whether the problem is in the unit or with the coax connection.

The DVD player keeps opening and closing and won't play/load DVD's. What could be the problem?

There are sensors which tell the DVD drive that the drawer is closed and that there is a DVD inserted, if these fail there is usually no simple fix, the parts need to be replaced which requires complete dis-assesembly of the TV/DVD, Most people just choose to connect an external DVD as it is cheaper.

I have purchased a new DVD Player. Please help me connect to a TV with cable.

You need a Scart cable to connect the two. The instruction manual should tell you which port to connect to on the DVD (usually TV). The port on the TV should say AV in or similar . Sometimes you have to tune a TV channel to view the DVD but usually if you select AV on the TV it will play automatically.

How to connect other dvd or HDMI player into dav-sc5 for amblification

If your alternate DVD player has digital audio out you can make this connection via the 'optical digital in' port on the rear of the unit which corresponds to the Video 2 function. I have done this myself because the inbuilt DVD function in the Sony unit is dead (fixed once under warranty, problem recurred about a year later, same issue as other unsolved posts on this board, DVD function hangs, system won't switch off, etc. common problem with this unit, crap product).
