Hello, My HP PSC 1210 is not printing. It shows an "E" continuosly in the Copies window. When I press the "On/Resume" button, the machine does not turn off, it stays on. I have to unplug the printer to turn it off. When I plug it back up, nothing's changed. It just stays on with that "E" showing continuosly doing nothing. The orange amber "Check Print Cartridge" light continously flashes, even though I replaced both the old black & white and color cartridges with new ones. That was always flashing with the old cartridges, so that's why I changed them with new ones to no avail. The light still flashes. Can you help me out? I do not know what to do. Thank you, Tony Mitchell
Hi My first quesiton to you would be: What version of windows are you using. If you are using Windows Vista you will need to go to the HP Site and download the new updated drivers for the new OS. Second Question : Are you using genuine HP printer catriges? If so make sure the contact point where the catrigr and the printer meet are clean and free of dust. Try re seating the cartriges and re calibrating th printer. I checked with HP online tech support and they backed me on this. If you have any more trouble feel free to email me : [email protected] Have a great day.

I went in and turned printing to gray/ black and now I can't get it to turn back to color. I've checked preferences, etc.... and there is nothing to change or check. anyone have any ideas?
I changed the color cartridge with a new HP cartridge. When I closed the cartridge door, all the indicator lightes started flashing and the unit overheated and smoked. I could not power down with the power switch so I unplugged. Upon replugging, same thing occurred. Thanks for your help.
