I cannot put the beaters in any more beacause they hit each other. It looks like the gears skipped a few tangs and line up incorrectly. I can only put one beater in because the they are no longer at offset. Anyone know of a fix or how I can 'retime' the beaters?
The beaters can be retimed but, you have to open the mixer. There are 2 gears visible inside the head. Look closely for arrows or dots on the gears. These are the timing marks. Like marks should be placed exactly opposite each other on the work gear. (The spiral shaped gear) Look at the notches where you put the beaters. One will be lined up straight, the other will be at 45 degrees. While you have it opened, you might want to regrease it. Remove the old grease with a stick or small narrow screwdriver. Put vaseline or equivalent in the gear area. Only fill it about half way. If you over fill it, it will leak out when you get it hot from long or heavy use.
this is exactly what I expect to find, once I get inside the puzzle... However I cannot seem to find the magic screw that releases the entire machine... any help is GREATLY appreciated. I have already taken the whole thing apart from the bottom and back and put it all back together, but cannot seem to figure out how to get inside the front end...

Pry up the beater release button. You will find a screw in there and the front will come off. Good luck
