I have a Toshiba TV and neither the television remote nor the Warner Cable remote control is working on the TV. The Cable remote control is working on the cable portion, but the TV itself does not respond to either remote to turn the TV on and off or volume. I've changed batteries on both remotes, just in case, but that is not the problem. I've rebooted the cable, but that is not the problem. I've unplugged the TV, but that is not the problem. Please help.
Is the remote original and ment for the television? if not I would suggest a universal remote from any local retail shop to replace the non working remote.
Hi
it lost all its programming if you still have the disc redownload the codes on to the remote if not go to logitechs web site and request another disc or download .or try universal remote
id the remote reset (remove batteries and push all the buttons twice, reinsert batteries) and the emitter was now working. However, the remote would still not control the base unit. I did the remote base code reset (push power, volume and TV/DVD buttons together) but this did not help. I then checked the command code switch. This is a small three position slide switch located in the battery compartment on the remote. I slid the switch back and forth several times returning to the default number one setting where it was before. I did not change anything on the base unit but the remote now worked.

Welcome to Fixya! This sounds like the Recieving Mechanist inside the TV is Faulty and needs to be replaced by a Service Center.
If no remote is working, it may be the IR board on tv not working. If you want to try an original replacement remote, you must give me the exact model of the TV.
If you do not have an original remote with exact codes for this model, then buy an exact replacement for your TV, see here:Replacement Remotes
1-800-Remotes
If you already tried several universal remotes with right codes, and TV is still not working, The IR receiver on the TV is devective.
