Toshiba 50HX70 convergence problem

I have seen a few articles on this subject but I was hoping someone can give me specific help with this problem. I try to fix the convergence on mt Toshiba color stream (cinema series HD) model 50HX70, but I cannot set it up properly on the left side of the screen. The central crosshair, and all crosshairs on the right and middle of the screen are OK but when I try to fix the cross hairs on the left side, I cannot move the red color (I am missing about a half inch). I am including a picture to demonstrate this. Can anyone recommend a solution?

Did any of the above posts try this and if so did it work? I have the same problem and am debating whether to order the parts and try to fix it myself (I am not so handy) or just buy a new tv.

My camera displays zoom error, the zoom would not retract aand I can't take any shot. From the previous questions and solutions, someone said that taking out the our lens and pushing the inner one till it...

Your camera has a lens error, this is such a common fault that I hope you don't mind me pasting my stock generic answer below. No point in reinventing the wheel! Note that you cannot remove your "outer lens". The lens on your camera is an integrated complete unit and is not designed to be dismantled. Even Fuji service centres will only replace the whole lens assembly and will not attempt to replace just a part of it.

Stuck lenses are probably the most common reason that compact digital cameras get thrown away, but there's a fair chance of recovering use of your camera again

The fault is commonly caused by dirt or grit blocking the mechanism, or due to it having suffered a recent fall. Another common cause is that the camera was in a pocket or bag and the power button accidentally activated and tried to open the lens against resistance. The mechanism may have simply become dislodged or there may be parts which have broken.

If your camera is still under warranty and has definitely not been subject to misuse then contact the Fuji service department in your country to find out about a free repair. If the warranty has expired though a professional repair will far exceed the cost of replacing your camera. You will therefore have nothing to lose by trying to fix this yourself.

Please click here and you will be taken to an excellent article provided by the Camera Repair website. For the most part, you'll be guided on how to physically manipulate your camera to try and clear the fault. Although the article mentions Canon a few times, the advice applies equally to all cameras with lens errors and is not model-specific.

If the link doesn't work then cut and paste the following address into your browser:-

Good luck, I hope you manage to use this information to fix your camera. Please take a moment to rate the free answer I have provided for you and any testimonial which you might wish to add is always welcome!

My picture goes 3-d like on the sides, and if your looking at the front of the tv inside to the right in the back i notice if I tap it it fixes it temporarily. Can someone walk me thru fixing it please

WS-55819 uses two of the STK-392-570 convergence chips-----usually it is not a soldering problem--I have seen dozens of these sets that use this chip--some of the chips before they totally fail do this--convergence comes and goes--I have also seen several when I unsoldered them that the pins literally fell out of the chips--

I HAVE START TO FINISH, STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS REPAIR IN THIS SET--if you can solder well and are handy--you can buy a pair of the chips on Ebay for less than 13 dollars plus shipping.

I cannot give you my email address but..........

I have also photos of a few things you need to look at if you do this repair----The instructions tell you how to do the repair and also tell you EVERYTHING you will need to do it.

If you have some idea of how I can get the instructions to you other than here let me know--

Take my word for it---if convergence is jumping in or out you need to replace both chips and the set will not have this problem again for 5-8 years--lifespan on these parts.

IF THIS information has helped you, rate this solution as I do this here for free.

Hitachi 51SWX20B Convergence problem

Your TV has a convergence problem. Here are some of the most common symptoms.

Screen looks 3D
One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed in or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence or magic focus section.

Try to adjust the convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Its a fairly easy fix on the Hitachi sets.

You can get a repair kit that includes all the parts from The kit includes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, etc.
Everything you need to fix it yourself.

Not a fix for do-it-yourselfers, but check with Panasonic as there is a new fix. Requires tech to come and reprogram the eprom (I think).
Cheaper than a new optic board.

What is AF on my camera?

A bit more detail would be helpful to diagnose your specific problem: what mode is the camera in, does it do it all the time or only in certain situations.

There are a few situations when the autofocus does not do well: focus too close to the subject, or in a very low light situation, or the subject is gray. Check that you are not affected by any of these.

Otherwise, try to find if there is something wrong with your camera: find someone else with the same camera (or one in a store display), and see if following the same steps gives you the same result.
