You can try data recovery software such as CDroller or "Bad CD DVD repair"
Or send it off to a mini dvd recovery company such as www.minidvdrepair.com
I used them in the past with great results. I believe I paid around $100

Phillips cdr 200 recorder, just recorded 13 tracks with time left over on sony brand recordable cds for music. i switched from analog to digital to finalize and it took 4 mins however RECORDABLE still...

It sounds like it didn't truly finalize. Try finalizing it again since the 'recordable' status implies it still qualifies. You have to press RECORD immediately after FINALIZE.

The Philips directory lists a few CDR200 models but the documentation contains directiosn for CDR765.

http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/c/

for example...
http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/c/cdr200bk/cdr200bk_dfu_aen.pdf

If for some reason you ever want or need to extract music from a non-finalized CDR or CDR-W, try loading it into a standard DVD player. Without a TOC the player won't be able to display track info or navigate to individual tracks but it MAY play it straight through anyway and you could digitally capture all or part of the output on another CDR. Just be aware that if the original is rewriteable and has old data beyond the new data you will crash into it without warning at the end of the new data, so be ready to pause your copy at the appropriate time.

Sony camcorder 'Movie recording disabled'

You need to finalize it in the camera, the one you used.

Then you should be able to access what little data if any on it.

If you can not get it to finalize then take both the camera and disk to a photo shop. They may be able to recover it for you.

Let us know the results. Good luck

We recorded on a DVD-R disc (SONY DCR-108 brand new) and replayed what we recorded a few times and removed the disc without finalizing it. Now when we put it back into the camcorder it will not play or...

I would suggest you try cleaning the disc with a soft cloth, wipe from center outwards. Check for scratches, dust, dirt, use small amount of water if required. Also try cleaning the lens pickup in the camera. The disc should read without finalize process in the same camcorder it was recorded in. If you still cannot get it to read, I would suggest a video transfer service may be able to recover the data. Call
888.451.2220http://www.apmstudio.com/ would be just one example of these services. Look locally first, they may be able to read the disc for you.

Hi: Please i have the sony handycam model:dcr-dvd602e and i had recorded a whole disc with it ( 30 min.) then i finalize and it was completly finalized but after that or at the end of finalizing a message...

oops....something happened during the finalizing process and it failed. Hope you had a back-up in your computer of the disk. It doesn't need to be finalized to have it in the computer, just in case this happens. Looks like your disc got erased.

Movie recording disabled

I have the same problem.  If you have taken the disk out of the re-corder, then you can no longer finalize the disk...and you will potentially lose the data on the disk.  Their only solution was to take it to a professional media service and see if they could recover it...what a joke...at no point in the manual does it indicate that you cannot remove your disk or face the potential of losing your recording...I lost the recordings of the birth of my son...I will never forgive that...

We have a Canon DC22 camcorder. The disc shows that there is only 4 minutes of recordable time left (DVD-R), but upon review it does not show our recorded video. We know that there was viewable video...

are you doing a finalize on your -r discs? if not finalized won't play in anything but camcorder-dvd can be finalized at any time-you should not lose your footage--rw can sometimes play in players w/out being finalized can also delete scenes and reuse-look for finalize in your playback menus
