You may want to try to re-autoprogram the television's channel memory. It memorizes and locks to the exact frequency of the channels you are trying to watch. The TV may be trying to fine tune the station until it locks to it, which may be causing the fuzzy audio.
Also, if the audio leveling or compression is on in the menu (the little music note icon in the menu is the sound options), then try turning it off. This compression may be reacting to the over-driven audio from the cable company.
