Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum Logo

Motor overheating I have changed the washable filter and cleaned out the cleaner and it works perfectly for about 10 mins when it stops and the motor is boiling hot. I have a Dyson vacuum cleaner which did the same, but when I cleaned all the filters it is OK. Is there a filter which I am missing somewhere? The one I cleaned was the round two part washable one. Help!

There is a filter on top of the motor as well. You will need to remove the plastic cover on top of the motor with a small screwdriver or other flat blade. On the front, you push in the clip and pull up ont he cover. On each side of the cover there is another clip - to pop those you put your flat blade into the angled tab and slide it around to the clip until it pops. Gently or you'll break the tab. Once the cover is off there is a purple tab in the center pull up and you will pull the HEPA motor filter out - similar in shape and size to the side, washable, filters. Clean or replace that.

Had the same problem 2 years ago. Washing filters only a short-term solution. After contacting Dyson, they replaced the shroud and cyclone under warranty. This cured the problem from July 05 until last week, when the motor has started to overheat again and cuts out on the high temperature safety trip. Mine is out of warranty now, so am unsure how to proceed. Maybe buy the parts they sent me before, but reckon they'll be expensive.

How do I fix the machine - the filter keeps popping making me stop vacuuming several times per use.

Contact Dyson and ask if there is a fault with this type of cleaners air filters. They may send you a new part to fit if there is s known fault.
Any of the washable filters have to be left for a few days to dry in normal weather before they are fully dried out before the unit can be used again. If possible try and hang them up on a washing line to allow the free flow of air to dry the filter.

Bought used but was extremely dirty and clogged. I disassembled it and throughly cleaned it, replacing the power head belt and hepa filter and tried as best I could, to clean fillter over the motor

sounds like overheating. Is the hose clear? Check if there is air being blown out somewhere from the motor, if not, the motor can't breathe.

Shark uv208 turning off

Ok, it has a thermal breaker built into it to protect the motor from burning up.

9 out of 10 times it means either a blockage or even the main air filter is blocked--if filter blocked the motor overheats so.....

Locate the filter and if foam it will be washable--did one recently with this issue in another brand--instructions right where the filter is indicate to wash in sink etc and water ran black for several minutes, hope this helps.

Hi, I have Pnasonic Vacuum cleaner MC-7650 -2000W,while working machine stops its own.I tried all the way ,all in vain

If it operates less than 15 minutes suspect the filter is blocked and that will cause the motor to heat triggering shut off.

l have seen this and the filter may be washable or not.

My hoover Windtunnle model U5781-900.turns off while in use. After sitting for about 30 min it will work again for about 10 min and then shut off agian.

This is a result of the motor overheating. Try cleaning the filter above the dirt cup. Remove the dirt cup and right above should be a grey plastic cover. Slide the lock to get to the filter. Once you clean the filter, allow it dry and place everything back the way it was. This should allow the vacuum to work much longer.

I have a DC04 and when i switch it on it works for 10-15 mins thens stops working for about 20 mins then starts working again.

Your vacuum is overheating - that's why it cuts out. You need to check everywhere possible for blockages and also make sure the washable filter is clean and dry. If the machine has been run without the washable filter in place, then the exhaust filter will be clogged and will have to be changed too.

My dco7 quits running after 10 min I wait 15 min to start again

This is a sure sign of a blockage. The motor cuts out because it gets too hot and will start again when it has cooled. Follow the instructions in your user manual for clearing blockages (you can download a copy from the Dyson website if necessary). Make sure the washable filter is clean too (and completely dry before you use it).

Dyson DC07 Vacume cleaner trips on thermal after 10 min motor not excesive hot resets after 15 min has been doing this for the last 3 mths. Could it be faulty thermal or motor overheat how can I check...

first, check both filters on that unit. the premotor filter on the side, and the hepa filter underneath the canister. if those filters are clean move through the suction channel and look for a clog or obstruction. also make sure the canister is clean. I have never seen the thermal go bad on those machines (not saying it cant happen though). it sounds like the filters are dirty or you have a clog. its also a good idea to change the pre motor filter if its older than a yr. the foam is fine but the white material behind the foam gets clogged frequently. let me know if you have any other questions and if this doesnt fix the problem.

Overheating while vacuuming - 15 mins near new machine. Have checked filters. No change

When we run vacuum cleaner continuously, it gets hot.
So after each 3-4 minutes cleaning, stop it and remove the dust. This will cool the motor and in this way we can use it for a long time. So use vacuum cleaner with breaks.
