Remote Control code for DVD Protron PD-800

I lost my original remote control of my DVD Protron PD-800 and I do not know how to set up my Sony universal remote control because I do not have the code. I will appreciate if someone can help me to do this. Regards Gustavo

    Same issue as noted with the PD-800... I need the code for Protron PD-007 DVD player. Can't get it. That's what we get for trying to outsmart the DVD manufacturerers and get a universal player...

The code I used and it seems to work is 0194, but while trying to program my receiver, It changed some setting and the picture keeps looping over and over on the screen, and I can't get it to stop, I even made it worse while messing with the settings....

I found a 3-way universal remote at Walmart--cheap and it works with the code 0925.

There is a code. A few years back I was trying to figure out the same thing using a Jensen JR500 universal remote. It uses the same code as another company, but that was years ago and I can't remember which. Most likely it was Proscan, but thing is I couldn't use it under DVD or even AUX I had to use it under VCR. If I can I will try and re-investigate this problem so I can post the code for you guys.

Don't bother. Instead just go out and buy a Universal remote control that can control almost any device or devices. It comes with complete instructions to have each device "tell" the remote the code and the remote will then store each for each device. You can purchase a Universal control at your large drug stores or electronic stores.

I can't get the remote to wwork with this player. Also it won't allow me to use universal remotes it just brings up a weird menu that you can't move through.
The universal remote are very limited in functions for all original electronic devices,only like power on button,play button work only mostly.Try website like Remotes.com to buy the dvd player original remote control.

There are no codes for Protron DVD player you need to use the search mode on the remote here is how.

earchching For Youour Code
If your home entertainment device does not respond to the remote control after trying all of the codes listed for your brand, or if your brand is not listed at all, try searching for your code.
For example, after trying all of the codes for your TV, you still cannot get the remote control to operate your TV, then:
1. Turn on your TV.
2. On the remote control, press TVTV once. Then press and hold Setup until the TVTV key blinks twice, then release Setup.
3. Enter 9 - 9 - 1. The TVTV key will blink twice.
4. Press and release the digit 1. The TVTV key will blink twice.
Note: Substitute 1 with 0 if searching for a Cable code, 2 if searching for a DVD, VCR or PVR and 3 if searching for an Audio device
5. Press Power and aim the remote control at the TV and press CH + one or more times until the TV turns off.
NOTE: In the search mode, the remote control will send IR codes from its library to the selected device, starting with the most popular code first.
6. Press Setup once to lock in the code.The TVTV key will blink twice.
7. To search for the codes of another device, repeat steps 1 to 5, but substitute the AUX key for the device you are searching for.

I mistakenly purchased a Protron PD-DVR100 without a remote control. How can I get the universal remote control to recognize it? Neither the model nor maker are listed in the universal remote control...
You will need a universtal remote that seeks for the correct signal.
When you press the power button - it goes through all possibilities until it goes off.

Or purchase an original remote replacement HERE.
An original remote will give you all the functions available - whereas a universal will only give you the basic functions.

Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. The site has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. The site has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Set-up code list to many brand remote controls also is given. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.

Programming Notes

NO code for DVD
Dear Friends.
Do any of you think is any worht to spend a penny more on this Protron PD-800 DVD player ? I have just throught it away. I have no more time to loose.
Please just forget it. I am not a repairmen. Nice to know somebody else is capable of fix it.

Protron dvd-rw lost remote
I have the same problem, and you have two options: (1) Buy a Logitech Harmony remote - they are expensive, but their database probably has the codes. (2) Go to remotes.com and get the original for $40 or so. Use a learning universal remote to grab the codes, and leave the original remote in a safe place.
