Check screen options. sometimes you can change the primary color's intensities(it looks stupid at 100% for all). You might have red a little low making yellow and blue show up greenish on the screen.

SOURCE: need multi region code for

This is the only Blu-ray player that can be made region-free.You will need a professional and fully programmable service remote, like Harmony or a Palm or PDA that can support Omniremote software. The procedure may look complicate if you have not done anything similar before. You will have to reprogram the remote using a PDA or a computer.

Print this out and follow instructions here.

For example using OmniRemote™ Pro V2.01 and a Palm
1. Install the OmniRemote on the Palm, or PDA.
2. Copy the current Category to the Palm memo pad
3. Modify the "Button name-0" data with the following code:
0000 0067 0000 0044 0155 00ac 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0404 0155 00ac 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0404
4. Import the database in omniremote
5. Turn on the DVD Player. Press newly programmed 0 button on the palm. The Palm will control the DVD, and the DVD Player will turn off and on again. On restart it will be region free.

SOURCE: BDP-51FD Firmware Upgrade WILL

Attempt to get the file manually, if that doesn't work, try using the file in administrative mode before using it. If it is corrupt completely, delete it and redownload it.

My BDP-51FD can not read disc. At the time I bought I already feel it's very picky for the disc. And thing's getting worst later. And now it even showed no disc no matter what kind of disc I put in. I feel...

Try updating the software from Pioneer.com more than likely going to have to put the software update on a disk, burn it, and install it. The old Sony's work the same way but are hard. Good Luck

Will not play new Avatar Blue Ray. It is showing BD-ROM BDMV. Nothing happens

There has been a change in the parameters of Blu Ray and your set will require a firmware upgrade to address this problem Contact the local distributor for details of when this firmaware will be available. It comnes on DVD or can be downloaded and burned to DVD You put it in and run it and its all automatic.

Will not play avatar blueray DVD

I have just had this issue, apparently the firmware needs to be updated. I am at 1.38 but there is a newer version (1.65) available. Look at the following link:

http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/support/software/BDP-51FD/index.html#download_18

and look at 'Download the update instructions'. This will tell you how to check your current Firmware Version and how to update it if it is required.
