These sets use for the most part two boards--each drives the screen on one side---also possible as suggested here the problem is inside the panel or where it connects to these boards--if inside the panel (the entire front screen unit) it is fatal as it cannot be got at and the display costs more than the set did new.

This also happened to me and may continue to get worse... If it goes away for a while after warming up, then it is the same problem... The LCD panel is probably going out, when that happens the cost to repair it is more than the tv is worth... If it is in warranty then you can have it replaced or fixed.

The panel or TCON board has failed, the solution is the same replace the panel. Not worth the cost, get a new TV

we have the same exact tv and it is not even a year old. we are told that it is the display panel and it is a well known problem with this tv. we were also told that there is a shortage of these parts. they had 283 on order, but only received 35. you need to call sony and tell them that you have this problem. they should warranty this for you even if your tv is 3 months past the warranty period. since this is a well known problem with this tv, keep on them.
Testimonial: "It in fact was a part of the lcd panel...the t-con board. I was able to research it and bought a box of parts off of a tv like mine and fixed it. Ron"

In most cases is the screen is covered with vertical lines all the way accross the screen then the T-Con module is at fault. The t-con board is replaceable without having to replace the entire LCD panel which would usually make it cheaper than replacing the TV. The part number I come up with is 1-857-213-11. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks...

Does the problem go away if you tap or squeeze the left side of the set? What you are describing sounds like a bad LCD panel tab. Sony's and Samsungs are notorious for it.
