Judith: According to eHow.com: "The washer has a volume capacity of 3.34 cubic feet. The overall depth is 28.25 inches, the overall height is 42.5 inches and the overall width is 27 inches.
"lc" may mean "load capacity" meaning too much weight in the drum. Wash time may be variable, and the load amount too! Experiment with you "wash time" feature, it may be for lighter loads ONLY. Get a user guide for your machine would be my call.....
acording to dealtime.com the Maytag Neptune FAV6800AW Top load washer has a volume capacity of 3.5 cu/ ft; or (Depth x Hight x Width) 29.25 in x 37 in x 27.25 in.
Check the tag where you find the model and serial number, they often list it there. Your owners manual should tell you as well. You might have to call whirlpool (maytag), I cannot find the capacity listed on the tech info. Good luck.
That is a tough one, especially since you indicate that the bearings are okay. The belt not wanting to stay on a Maytag Neptune washer usually does not bode well. It is usually an indication that the drum bearings are shot. Look for brown splatter on the back of the drum and the inside bottom of the washer. The presence of any brown discoloration is a pretty good indicator that the bearings are going. Anyway, hope this helped, sorry for your problem, and best wishes.
