Hi, I have a brand new, out of box 4G Eee pc. I have not once been able to connect to the internet. I have a wireless network with a modem and router. I have two other laptops connected and working just fine. I have the key for the network connection, and I know it is correct. I also know that my wireless connection is turned on. I have tried connecting through the Wireless connection Icon as well as the Network Connection Icon and setting up the wireless connection manually. I have no linux experience at all. Any time I try to connect it simply sits on Pending. It stays there and does nothing. Any suggestions? Or should I just call Asus?? Thanks.
You may be choosing the wrong encryption method. For instance your entering your wireless key (WEP) and you have it set on (PSA, WPA). Make sure those settings match. Also you may have an IP conflict which is resolved by setting up a static ip. If the encryption methods match and you need help with a static IP let me know

I suggest thatt you connect directly to your modem using the LAN Blue cable and do an update on your system this can be found " How to do in your User Manual " If you are using original Operating System or if you are using Mandriva 2008 do an update this may fix anyknown glitches in the system
Also on boot up press F2 Key to get into your BIOS ( Built in Operating System and make sure that the wirless is enabled sometime this is not by default and Thirdly make sure that the Wreless Little Blue Light is on You can check this in your Manual too but this is only a switch and if it isnt enabled in your Bios it wont work
Hope this helps
I have had one of these computers for a year and a half and it works great and is really handy Bye for now

That won't work then as the wireless on the asus would have to be at least an N standard as well.

I had the same pending issues as everyone else. I have an Actiontech router using WPA shared key encryption. I solved my problem by broadcasting my SSID network id. I believe the wifi software is at fault and it does not search for wifi signals that have the SSID disabled. I hope this tip helps.

I have tried both WEP and WPA, neither worked. As for the ip, I think my internet connection has a rotating ip. It sounds like this may be a software problem from the manufacturer as I have noticed other people discussing the same problem. Oh, and I have a wireless n router. The Eee PC says it is wireless g.
Ok, my mom finally got through to tech support for me and they told her that it wouldn't connect and was pending because my router software needed updating. WTF! It didn't even come with any to my knowledge. And every other laptop, phone, etc. can connect in my house, why can't this dang mini laptop???
I tried my mini at another wireless internet location and it connected immediately. Apparently, my wireless router at home isn't compatible with the mini. Any suggestions for a new, inexpensive router to get this thing working at home?
I finally got "online" to my own wireless connection after choosing STATIC IP address instead of Dynamic (like the Asus tech support told me to choose) but now getting the message that "Firefox cannot find server", server not found and problem loading page. So I'm oline but unable to access the web. Other wireless laptop working fine in the house.
i have the same problem with my new eee pc and i no it works because i took it to my friends house but i'm with orange and i have tried everthing i can.t even find a tech helpline number
I have the same problem, however, I've been able to connect to my wireless router (Linksys) only when I turn off the security. So something is wrong with the security interface. I've tried every combination I can think of.
FYI, I have a Lenovo Laptop, a Dell laptop, and my Blackberry Curve that work 1st time everytime with the same WPA2 settings.
got my Asus this week ,same problem in that cannot connect to the net just stuck on pending .
I have exactly the same problem, can anyone help?
