Problem: Paper does not feed EXACT SAME PROBLEM FOR MOI Each time i try to print, the paper begins to feed through the printer, but seems to only be grabbing on the right side, so gets bunched each time!!! Help?
Awesome...fixed mine too. Mine was a little foam bumble bee that fell off of my daughters flower art work, which sat right above the printer.
Thanks guys for the help !!!... I looked deep deep inside, and I found a pendrive stuck between the rollers... (and a coin which I previously dug out) the pen srvie was really stuck in thee good....
Thank you so much! Found broken sun chip in mine. I'm blaming this on my three year old LOL
I found a key on a key ring eventually, It was fairly stuck in there I located it by watching where the edge of paper that failed to feed was damaged. The paper was bent bout an inch from the left hand side. Another indication was that envelopes were feeding ok when the left hand guide was holding them to the right. It was difficult to get that key out and I cut the piece of cardboard backing from a drawing pad to three inches wide and could not believe it when having pushed it in from the feed at the back when i pulled it out, with it came this key.
One thing sure, either my printer or the cork board above it will be moving.
Finally it is hard to believe this thing still works after the shaking, turning upside down, and jamming of card stack through the paper feed.
I finally forgive cannon for the camera that never worked again following a very careful trip to the beach. A grain of sand gave rise to a lens problem that cost as much as a new camera.

Thank you all very much. A few days ago I snapped the clip off a cheap plastic pen. Guess where it ended up :)
I had an identical problem. I found a flexible shatterproof 30cm plastic ruler is the best tool for the job. slid it in and out from left to right and out popped an after eight wrapper. As im the only one that eats them in my house i can't even blame the kids for this one.doh.
Printer now works perfectly..

THANK YOU GUYS SOOO MUCH!!!!
Had this printer for 2 years now. After one month suffered from the exact same problem and just could not be bothered to do anything about it.
Tonight I decided to have a shot at fixing it and... ALLELUIA!
Tried shoving card through the printer and POP... out comes a BB gun pellet!!! My prayer came true. I finally got it fixed. One of the best days of my life.
I once had a similar problem a few months ago and I tried EVERYTHING I could do (Without shaking the printer, I was scared to do that) nothing worked, till I actually got up on a chair and looked into my printer (It is up on a rise above my computer) and there was a push pin sitting in the feeder opening! (Remove pushpin = then it was fine)
Then it started doing it AGAIN yesterday at a time when I really needed my printer, and this time there was no obvious pushpin or any obvious obstruction. I read all the stories here and thought *WOW they had things that far in there?!" So I tried harder and FINALLY after opening the back panel I saw with a flashlight there was a FROOTLOOP (I don't even HAVE any frootloops in my dorm! XD) jammed in the right side inside it! With a chopstick I was able to get it out and now it's fine again. OMG.
But yea, things like to get stuck in printers I guess. XD
Thank you! Pushed a piece of card through and out came a false nail.
Yah the paper feed and jam on the right side only was really getting to me too. The first time I thought it worked itself out. But this time after much suffering I checked this site and found that it maybe a good idea to check that something maybe stuck inside. I shook it, gave it to my husband to shake it, did everything but throw it down and stomp on it. Was starting to think that it was simply broken and bin-ready when I peered inside as far as I could. That's when I saw it. A little gift left by my 20month old wedged as far inside as it could possibly go. Must have come lose from the shaking. Finally got it out and the printer is working as good as new. My expert solution to fix printer? Get big fat pencil out of said printer.
Before you turn the printer upside down and shake you had better take out the ink cartridges.
IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you very much. Shaking, turn it upside done, force thick paper into the printer. And we found a magnet from the whiteboard above the printer.

Thank you so much for the solution.
I pushed a sheet of cardboard through the printer and found a piece of a... felt-tip pen >.<
Never letting little kids in my room again, relatives or not...
LOL !!! ... It works, mine is fixed too !!!
Man, you should setup a tech service center for printer troubleshooting.
Turn it upside down ... shake it .... force paper down into the feeder .... feed cardboard into printer .... do a bit of vacuuming .... and viola ... presto .... it works. Brilliant.
I couldn't believe what the solution was to this problem until i tried it myself.
Thanks !
I LOVE YOU! Thank you sooooo much! I was just on the point of going out to buy another printer, but this worked brilliantly! (embarrasingly enough mine happened to be jammed by a stray sweet wrapper, so thats the last time i put anything on top of it..) Again, thank you!
Putting a thicker paper through the 3rd time pulled out the object that was causing my miss feed...a foam flying disk. This worked on my Canon i860!
From godfree who oginally asked. thank you mate thank you thank you as well
Thank you very much creativeguy, my kids are very appreciative for this solution and it worked...thank you thank you thank you
I've had this error for the last 2 months and periodically tried to fix it. - I finally read a suggestion to try to push something thicker than a plain sheet of paper through. I cut a side of a manilla folder into a 8.5"x11" and let the printer try to grab it during a copy. After doing it's normal "grab the right side until it's skewed and stop", I continued to try to push it through. I wasn't able to push it to the printing area, but I saw that a piece of something (not much bigger than a bread crumb) came out of the feeder into the interior print area. - I tried another copy, and it was very slightly improved but still skewing and jamming the paper. Suggest unplugging it before performing this...I then lifted the interior piece of plastic (white color for my Pixma MP 150 - which would be located above the paper as it was fed into the print area) slightly to allow any jammed items to come through. Out comes small pieces and then a larger piece of cracker (about the size of 1/4 a cheez-it). Ok I feel dumb, but I'm glad I found something. I picked out the crumbs and did a careful vacuum in the interior and exterior paper feed. Slight warning: The foam bottom below the ink is not secured and will get sucked up by the hose. And note, that I did try vacuuming the intake and interior previously with no improvement. The nozzle on my vacuum is too large to get into the bottom of the exterior intake. - For good measure, I also picked up the printer and turned it upside down and shook vigorously in a couple angles. I saw a couple more small crumbs come out. - My printer is now feeding the paper correctly and successfully made a copy/print.
SOURCE: Paper does not feed - GRABS RIGHT SIDE
gears below the paper feeding tray are damaged or some dust particle have blocked the gears try to clean it by blowing the dust use normal greece (oily substance) between the gears so that they can move frequently to pull the paper, and if the gears are damaged you have to change the gears.

problems of paper feeding in canon mpc190 printer
My printer does the same thing. It grabs on the right side and gets a paper jam error. I can't see anything in the printer causing a jam, but can't see very far in printer. Is there something I can take off of the printer to see inside? I tied shaking it but to no avail.
After trying to shake loose any stuck paper, I am now getting a square zero instead of a 1. What does that mean?
Just shoved a manila envelope through left side of printer and forced what looked like a small piece of food (french fry?) out and printer is again working great. Thanks for your reader's solution. Showing evidence to 12-year-old orf why he can't use my computer ever again. Thanks again ever so much!
