Dear GM,
Our Toshiba dvd recorder (D-R265SE), functions as normall except that the on-screen setup menu will not show. We think this may have to do with our wiring. (It is routed throught the skybox)
Do you know if this is an existing problem and could you plz provide a solution
Thanks
Jim
SOURCE: remote control code
The remote control for your DVR has the capability to control 2
additional DVRs in addition to the one that you currently have. In
order for the remote control to work with your DVR, you will need to
make certain both of them are talking on the same frequency. If you
press the remote control and the front of your unit says DR2, that
means that you need to have your remote on DR2 as well so that it can
operate the DVR. To set your remote to DR2, you will need to make sure
the unit is off then you will need to press and hold down the SETUP
button and while you are holding this button down, press the number 2
button. Your remote is now set to DR2.
Good luck...
SOURCE: I can't set up DVD player correctly to record t.v. shows
ok let's start from simple connection.we'll use color coding, let's say rca plug. yellow plug is video.from DVD video out is yellow and to the tv is video in. white and red is for audio.if your tv is 5.1 compatible then follow the label on your DVD and insert it to its corresponding label on your tv.then still if your using a separate audio amplifier only the yellow/video plug is used.

You can play these recordings without finalizing them in the D-R410, but if you want them to play
in other DVD players, they need to be finalized. See pages 28 to 32 in manual. If you want to
finalize the disks you've already made, follow the directions on page 32.

hi there, a little late.....but here we go........do you have cable? if yes connect the cable from the cable box out to dvd in and connect the dvd out to tv in.......pls note the dvd and tv must be set/tune to ch #3.(and you cannot record HBO)......you dont have cable just tv and dvd you need rca wire (red, white & yellow) also the F connector wire....in back of dvd connect the 3 wires audio in video in (is your tv/monitor a flat panal these connections might be on the side) if not its in the back plug in to out on tv....(this is so you can record)....plug the F conncetor wire from dvd to tv......on this connection you can set the dvd to ch #3 or any ch you want to record...........
SOURCE: When I turn my Toshiba D-VR4 recorder on, it won't go to DVD
I figured it out with absolutely no help from the manual. To initiate recording, you have to press the timer/set button. After the DVD recorder finishes recording, you have to re-press the timer/set button to take it out of recording mode. I think their book needs to explain that more clearly.
Testimonial: "Of course it works, I wrote the solution."
Press and hold CH Up and CH Down button on the main unit for about 5 seconds.
(Current channel line-up and television program list are cleared.)
Select "Yes" in "Restore Default Settings" in the SETUP menu.
This returns all values in the SETUP menus, except for the clock, channel settings, ratings
level, and on-screen language, to the default settings.
While the disc tray is open, press [DVD] then press and hold REC button and Play/ [PLAY/* 1.3] BUTTON on the main unit at the same time for 5 or more seconds
Press and hold POWER button on the main unit for 10 seconds. (The settings remain.)
OK.
