Hi,
No, sorry but this cam doesn't have FW port...
if it is for access to your records for editing, use USB
If it is for streaming, broadcasting or recording on a PC, use the HDMI output and HDMI capture card...
that's all...
cheers,
mich

SOURCE: repair firewire Sony HDR-HC3

I have a HDR-HC3 and I had the same problem too... This model has ALOT of problems with transferring files and I need to pay $90 to get it repaired... Try it on a Mac, if iMovie cant pick it up it means you have a firewire problem.

SOURCE: I have sony trv33 and windows 7 using firewire

Hi,
Your camera will not be recognized when you connect it via firewire. To transfer the video from your camera to your computer you will need a video editing program that is able to capture video from camcorders connected via firewire.
You can try Windows Movie Maker for Windows 7. Alternatively your can search through the internet to find a more advanced video editing software.

Use Windows Movie Maker that's in Vista - it should work with this camera as long as the drivers are installed for your Vista operating system.

This requires a i.LINK socket on the PC, is also known as Firewire or IEEE 1394; if your PC doesn't have one of these inputs, adaptors and add-on cards are widely available). This page from sony shows how

I purchased a Pinnacle Dazzle to connect my Sony DCR-HC38 to my computer. I do not know how to connect the camcorder to the Dazzle device.

Sony DCR-HC38E should have an interface called 1394, or the firewire. so you need to use a FireWire cable to connect it to your computer's firewire interface, some laptops have it built-in, If you don't have one on your computer, you can either purchase a IEEE1394/FireWire adapter, which should be under 100 or even $50.

I dnt hav usb cable for my handy cam DCR-HC52E ...

Product Summary
4-pin to 4-pin IEEE 1394 iLink FireWire Cable dv out to laptop Connect and transfer home movie from your digital camcorder to Notebook computer.

You will need a Firewire port on your computer, also known as a DV port or IEEE 1394, to use this cable. This is NOT a USB cable.

This DV cable will connect your laptop (notebook)
NOTE: for some models, becuase of no DV jack on the body, this cable connects to docking station/cradle instead of connecting directly to your camcorder.

Yes, the brandnames Firewire (Apple) and iLink (Sony) are both IEEE 1394 interfaces.
