How to fix an awm 20706 105c 60v vw-1, lets see if I can decode this line of text.

well we replace all that fail. fixing them is kinds deity like, for sure.
FFC is cable only.... so....
if you broke the 2 end connectors in the PC, then you just wrecked good mobo. $$$$$
there are 3 kinds if jacks, FFC

1. hinge (aka rotary)
2. just pull & push on,
3. wedge type.

#1 and 3 takes skills not to wreck them.
do not ever yank off 1 or 3. they both must be unlocked first.
wedge just pull up the wedged. device. in the correct directon
the hinge (i hate) must be trickled to open and varies by brand
so far I have no wrecked any but fixed many from others that did.

The problem is that the flat flexible cable which connects the dock to the main unit is breaking. After taking mine apart(!), I found that the point at which the cable connects to the main unit is flexed very strongly each time the dock is opened. Each time the dock opens & closes, it gets worse.

Replacement is a 260mm, 12 pin, 1mm pitch, flat flexible cable, AWM 20624 80c VW-1. I have yet to locate a supplier of this cable.

This apears to be an equivalent cable. I am an EE helping a friend fix his DV6000t HP laptop where 2 of these cables have failed. A PN search for the identical cable (AWM E118077 2896 80C) came up with your problem post.

Same problem here... I called Electrasound which is the repair company for Delphi and they said they are "not authorized" to sell the cable. They will only repair it for $99.00 plus $15.00 shipping. What a load of ****!
