I don't believe there are any shipping bolts on that unit.

I have a new top loader GE washer. it works fins but when it comes to drying, it shakes like crazy and makes very bad hammering noise

Make sure the washer is level. Most important make sure the shipping pins are removed. Classic! Good luck! The pins are located underneath your washer. Tilt up and pullem out!

Suspension plate

Hi,

The suspension plate should be loose and float between the frame and base. The pin you saw was a shipping pin, they usually are caught in a little plastic cup attached to the base but sometimes fall to the floor, this is normal too. The tub being loose is normal for the top, it is held down by the springs below the tub but nothing on top. By a loud noise, what kind of noise is it? If it is a very loud ratcheting noise when it slows down then the basket drive(spin tube) and block need to be replaced. If it is a growling noise then that is pump and may be normal if the basket is not spinning. If this is the case look very close for an article of clothing caught between the tub and basket.

Front loading kenmore 86983110 makes loud noise when turned on. Think that there is a problem with the belt. I am tryng to take it apart now and do not know how to find the belt

The belt is located at the back of the appliance.

To remove belt you have to remove a panel at the back, on some model you remove top panel first.

The belt does not make loud noise. Loud noise when spinning is usually caused by bad drum bearing, located at the back of the drum.

Regards.

My new Ge washer is making loud and vibrating noises while spinning. the washer does not seem to be off balance.

Who installed this? Sounds like they didnt remove the shipping rod located on back of machine. If so, refer to instruction manual for how to remove rod. Usually just pulls out.

Spin Cycle

Remove the bottom panel, it is held on by two screws, and make sure the foam block and shipping brackets are removed. My installer left them in.
