HE2 Plus washer will not complete the rinse cycle.

Washer stops before the rinse cycle completes and Fashes code Sd. water is still in the bottom. Have tried on most of the other cycles and it still does not work.

We have been using HE detergent except for the last couple of times. We went to sears to buy whirlout and they had never heard of it. They did have a tablet called "affresh". We tried it and it did not help. We removed the bottom of the washer, found the troubleshooting guide with all the codes and the clean out for the drain. We cleaned thin out and have had no problems.

Affresh is a product that removes the "mildew" smell from the washer. It's not meant to get rid of suds. At least now your washer smells fresh!

Kenmore he2 plus stops during wash cycle

What is the maximum capacity (laundry weight load) of your washer? And how much weight do you consider a large load, that you are placing in the washer?

I have the Kenmore front load washer HE2. How do I use the clean washer cycle.

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

In order to perform a "clean" on the HE2 is as follows...Read these instructions completely before beginning the cleaning process.
**If necessary, the cleaning cycle may be interrupted by pressing STOP. This will stop the cycle. A RINSE/SPIN cycle must then be run to thoroughly rinse the remaining bleach from the unit. Failure to do so will cause damage to the unit and clothing added to the next cycle.**

Begin procedure

1) Open the washer door and remove any clothing or items from the washer.

2) Be sure the door is closed.

3) Open the dispenser drawer and immediately add 2/3 cup (160 mL) of liquid chlorine bleach to the bleach compartment.

NOTE: Do not add any detergent to this cycle. Use of more than 2/3 cup (160 mL) of bleach will cause product damage over time.

4) Be sure dispenser drawer is closed.

5) Select the CLEAN WASHER cycle.

6) Press START.

NOTE: The basket will rotate, then the door will unlock, lock again, and then the cycle will continue. The machine will not fill, but the basket will rotate while the washer runs a short sensing cycle. This will take approximately 3 minutes.

7) The cycle will determine if clothing or other items are in the washer. a) If no items are detected in the washer, it will proceed to step 8. b) If any items are detected in the washer, all cycle lights will flash and "rL" or "F/34" will be displayed. Associated LED status lights will remain lit. The door will then unlock. Press STOP to cancel the failure code. Then repeat steps 1, 2 and 6 to start the cycle again.

8) Once the cycle has begun, allow the cycle to be completed.

9) After the cycle is complete, leave the door open, slightly, to allow for better ventilation and drying of washer interior.

Good Luck and thank you for choosing FixYa. Please take a moment to rate the info I provided and a short testimony is appreciated.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

I have a kenmore HE2 plus with error code F33 and F21. Washer is not fully spinning out and remains full of water at times and other times it does. What are the error codes and can it be fixed. Needs...

The F33 error code indicates a pump drive system error. If the pump ohms out correctly & the harness is secure I recommend replacing the CCU (central control unit).
Please see the following image provided for instructions.

Remember to disconnect power to the washer before attempting access.

Code D5, what is it?

A d5 error code usually means Sd. This error code is displayed when the control detects the basket has not seated on the hub or that the pressure switch has detected a Suds-lock condition. The washer will try to run a mini-clean out cycle using cold water and a 5 minute pause to clear the suds. If this cycle does not clear the display and complete the cycle the clothing may need to be rinsed by hand and then rewashed. The fault is caused by using the wrong detergent or excessive amounts of detergent.

Note: If the Hard Reset does not work, there may be an internal failure with the washer.

My washer stops in the middle of the cycle and displays F-1 and after I have to set it on the rinse / drain cycle to complete. Today for the first time it also displayed 5d at the end of the cycle.

5d or Sd means too much detergent was used. Try the following

Run the unit through a RINSE/SPIN cycle.
Run a NORMAL cycle without adding any detergent.

This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.

I am getting a F21 message and the washer does not seem to complete the spin cycle.

Unplug power cord. Take off the front panel (3ea -1/4"hex headscrews on bottom of panel). Get a shallow pan to catch the water and slowly unscrew the pump filter until the water fills up the pan. Repeat until all water is out of the washer tub. Unscrew filter and clean out foreign objects. Put all back together and run rinse spin cycle. If it works, cool...If not you will have to replace the pump.

Keep getting error code sd or 5d and sometimes a F error on my HE 2plus washer. Is there an inexpensive solution to the problem or should we be shopping for a new washer?

Hi

The Sd or 5d indicates that excessive suds are detected by the washer during the drain or spin phases of the cycle. The washer will stop and fill with 4 liters of water and then wait for 5 minutes to allow the suds to dissipate before continuing. If the suds cannot be reduced or eliminated so that the washer cycle can continue, it may stop and display the F21 (long drain) fault code. After the suds dissipate, you can normally drain the washer and spin out the clothes using a RINSE/DRAIN & SPIN cycle. Make sure that you are using HE (High Efficiency) detergent in the appropriate amounts to prevent excessive suds in the washer. This should prevent the washer from going into this routine.

And if you still face the same error then probably there is something(coins, socks, dirt, debris, etc) stuck inside the drain filter of your washer. You'll need to check the drain filter. To access the drain filter. To check the drain pump follow these steps:
  1. Unplug the washer to completely disconnect electrical power.
  2. Remove the bottom front service panel as shown in the first image below.
Also check your drain hose for a kink or clog. Check the washer house drain for a clog or restriction. Test the washer to see if it will drain properly.

Error Code F-20

I have same machine and manual says, "F20" on display (water inlet problem - no water or insufficient water supply). Select STOP twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug washer or disconnect power. Check the following. Are water faucets completely turned on? Are screens at inlet hose connection to washer clogged? Are water inlet hoses kinked? Are water inlet hoses frozen? Plug in washer or reconnect power. Re select cycle and press START. if the problem remains, call for service.
