Based on the information you provided, you need to replace the wig wag on the unit. No joke, that is what the part is called. Here is a link to the part to order.

SOURCE: Kenmore 80 series won't spin

If it is draining then the motor is turning the pump so it is ok.
This washer has no belt so that is not the problem.
Remove the cabinet and bypass the lid switch wires and put into a spin. Watch the clutch to see if it is turning. If the clutch housing is not turning and you know for sure the coupler is not broken then you need a new transmission. If the clutch housing is turning but the basket is not spinning you have something binding the basket or you need a new basket drive and clutch.
If you have only looked at the coupler from underneath you may not be able to tell if it is broken in the center. If it is broken again your transmission is not staying in neutral drain until the water is drained. That means it is going into spin with full load of clothes and water. This puts a lot of pressure on the coupler and causes them to fail prematurely. If this is the case you will need a new transmission.
Post back if you have any questions.

If it agitates and drains. leaving your clothes clean but soaking wet. It is most likely the transmission/gearbox. the motor is working otherwise it would not agitate. it is stuck in agitate mode and cannot "shift" into spin mode. new transmission will cost 140-170 and takes 2 or so hours to replace depending on skill level. total repair cost parts+labor $300ish you may want to ante up for a new machine at this point. if you cant to the labor yourself.
part# should be this: tho double check using your own model#

SOURCE: kenmore 80 series, model 110-2781690, won't spin

hi,
Unfortunately, it sounds like a transmission/gearcase problem, mainly because you stated the motor would run, but would not agitate or spin.

With the motor removed from the gearcase, try to turn the coupler on the gearcase side one way for many turns, and see if your agitator moves back and forth, then turn the coupler on the gearcase the other way many turns to see if the tub starts to move

thank you,
vijay

SOURCE: Kenmore Series 80 washing machine has an agitator

If this is a Whirlpool manufactured top loader (such as your Kenmore), it sounds like you may have a broken motor coupling. Failure to agitate or spin accompanied by the sound of the motor running with no tub action are some of the symptoms you can experience with this problem. Just to be sure...the following link explains the symptoms of a failed motor coupling and how to diagnose the problem:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3965207-whirlpool_top_loader_no_spin_problem

If you determine the coupler to be defective, the next link explains how to access the coupler and replace it:

The part number is included with the instructions I provided. Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

All these sites are reputable and offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare. The first three sites I listed also include helpful exploded view parts diagrams to assist you in locating and properly identifying the parts you need. If you do not wish to order parts on line, use the part numbers I provided and go to your nearest appliance parts retailer. The coupler is commonly sold as part of their in-store inventory. The average cost of a motor coupling is about $15.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Kenmore washer 80 series stopped draining

So it will agitate and fill but the motor won't run during drain and spin?
If so, the likely cause is a bad lid switch. The paddle that the probe hits when the lid is down moves a small switch. That switch can do two things
1. fail internally. It will look fine outside but it won't close the circuit
2. the screw holes snap and it hangs off the wires, the probe no longer hits the paddle and the switch stays open.
The lid switch is cheap and very easy to repair.

Kenmore series 80 will fill but won't agitate or spin

Hi

First make sure that nothing is blocking the drain pump assembly located inside the bottom of the unit, after this test the lid switch assembly, you jump it to test it. If the lid switch is also fine then the control board should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Kenmore washer 90 series continue to fill w/water. Load size won't stop the fill... had to shut off water source. won't get to agitate phase... just want to stay at fill stage... can drain, spin,...

Sounds like the fill switch needs to be replaced. A good way to test it is to set your machine on low fill and see if it fills past 3/4. If it does, it's the fill switch.

Kenmore washing machine 80 Series 110 20802 990 Will not agitate or spin"

You need to replace the Kenmore Washer Lid Switch. I had the same problem so being lazy I would just push down on the washer's lid and it would push the lid switch further down. making the water drain. after a while I just replaced the lid switch.

Kenmore washer 80 series 110 model not spinning.

unless your washer is over 20 years old, then it wont have a belt. the temperature of the water wont have anything to do with it spinning or not.
need to know if it agitates or drains and just wont spin.
if it agitates but no spin or drain, then you have a bad lid switch.
if it wont agitate or spin, but will drain, then you have a broken drive coupling.
