The TV is about 3 years old and the picture has become very dark. The brightness/contrast buttons do not seem to work at all. The bulb has been replaced and is brand new, but the picture is still dark. Any suggestions?
Hello jenniferjz20,
This problem seems like it may be related to the HV section or the video section. The HV section would effect the voltage at the ancde of the CRTs, while the video section would effect the video level at the cathode of the CRTs. My experience tells me that the HV section is more then likley the cause. I would suggest that if you have a HV probe use it to test the HV level on each of the CRTs this will tell you if the HV section is working correctly. Then test the video signal level using an oscilloscope on the CRT socket at the pins corresponding to the video input (Cathode).
If you do not have the equipment to do this nor a background in electronics I would suggest that you have a TV technician repair this for you.
I hope this helps
Thank you,

Hello jenniferjz20
If I may ask, What are you asking for? You asked the question:
Any suggestions? I answered. I don't mind a low rating, but I am requesting that you qualify the rating since it shows what the problem might be and offers a solution.
Thank you,
Hellow Jenniferjz20,
This might be a light tube problem also since the bulb has been changed. Have the tube inspected. the mirrors may have also become misaligned due to heat. I would suggest that you have a qualified technician do this for you.
These DLP TVs can be a problem because the mechanical aspect of them are so problematic.
I hope this helps

Its the cause of internal settings that should be made proper.
just click the link and download the exact model of your unit and check out for the settings in the trouble shooting and picture adjustment options.
