The start capacitor or start winding has gone bad. Or bearings are dry.
Don't run motor if it does not rotate full speed or motor will overheat and go bad.
Replace or repair motor.

Each motor has 2 winding circuits.
Start winding and run winding.
Both windings receive power same time.
Start winding has capacitor that releases sudden burst of electricity that starts motor rotation. Kind of like low speed on transmission.
Run winding then brings motor up to speed.

I have a kenmore 90 plus series model # 11068972892............... when i push start button the dryer motor will humm and mabey start to run or it will just humm and not run at all..if it...

Check under the machine and see if the motor turns easily by hand. It could be the motor, or it could be the bearing. The switching off after a while implies that the motor is struggling against a heavier than normal force and trips because of overheating. Most likely the bearing/s is/are ceasing up.

The wife needs her washer fixed !!

First tilt this machine back and examine the belt assembly and then start the timer at spin and note the action. If you see one pulley **** and try to turn check to see if it is the motor. Then try it with the belt off. If the motor spins free let it for 2 minutes to ensure it is not failing. The worse case is the gearcase has failed and will need professional help.
