Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.
you have a drum bearing, going bad, or your belt tension pully. it stops squealing because the unit heats up and the metal expands. you can also try spraying (WD40) the belt tension pulley..

The element access is from a panel on the bottom of the front panel or you will have to take the front completely off which is a lot easier than taking the back off. The front comes off with just a few screws and the top may actually hinge back a little. The element should be at the right hand bottom of the dryer. SOURCE: Describe your MDG7600AW Gas Dryer
Hello, welcome to FixYa.
I'll start by saying your post indicates it is a MDG7600AWW Maytag gas dryer. I believe based on your description, this is similar to what you'll be looking for...
If you'd like to post back with an email address I can send you a repair manual that can guide in the tear-down process. Let me know and we can go from there.
Once you've gain access to the inner cabinet you'll have little trouble replacing the pipe...gaining access is the "need to know" part or hard part...though not that hard. If this isn't the part in question, it makes little difference, once inside you can replace any part necessary.
**unplug the appliance and turn off the gas supply before attempting any service...safety first**
Let me know how you make out or if you require further assistance and I'll do whatever I can. Good luck.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)

1) Open the door to the dryer. You will notice that there are two phillips head screws on one side and on the hinge side there two, one through each hinge. Remove all four screws.
2) Take the door completely off, as well as the front face of the machine. You may have to pull on the front sides a little to get it to come off.
3) Now you will notice that there are 6 5/16" bolts, 3 on each side. Take the top one off on each side. You'll notice that these were holding a metal clip that was connected to the top. Once removed the top can be lifted up entirely.
4) Remove the other 4 bolts and the rest of the inner front of the machine will come off. Remember to disconnect any wiring that may restrict you from moving these pieces.
5) Now you'll be able to have access to the idler pulley, blower wheel, motor,
